I spawned, and realization set in; this was not just another Scary Coop map. This one was United.

The flickering lights surrounded the door at the start like a corrupted halo. My first thought: Possible connotations of religion. The door represents the way of Christ, and the lights represent His angels. The flickering represents the fallen angels (demons), darkened representations of something once used to light one's way. Even the name of the map includes the adjective "united", which draws parallels to existing with God after death (heaven).

Now, I'm not religious at all. In fact, God actually has something that the kids call these days: "generational beef", with me. I didn't finish this map, but it was not because it was painfully boring and made me want to gouge my eyes out with a scalpel in front of an audience of innocent citizens; it was the sheer intimidation I felt simply existing in the world of Scary United Coop.
