Current Status: FROZEN

To the Community:
Effective immediately, updates for these mods are on indefinite hold.

The Situation
Life happens. Between financial obligations and other responsibilities, I simply cannot prioritize modding right now. I want to be straight with you guys regarding the future of these projects.

The Reality
I am currently evaluating the need to sell my gaming PC to cover life expenses.

  • If I can keep the rig, development is just paused.
  • If the rig goes, these mods will likely never be updated again.

I prefer to be honest with you rather than leaving you in the dark. Thank you to everyone who has played and supported the work so far.

Why this exists
Firefights aren’t laser tag. Most rounds miss, but they still do work: they rattle you, throw off your aim, and make you think twice about peeking. Pinned Down brings that pressure to both players and AI, so fights breathe, stall, and surge instead of devolving into instant headshots.


Features
• Subtle visuals under fire
• Aim wobble and slower recovery while suppressed
• AI shares the same stress model
• Clean tuning in CBA. Plays nice with other mods

Setup
Start a mission \ Options \ Addon Options \ Mission or Server.
First test with CBA_A3 + PD only.

Compatibility
Blink is not working with Mike Force. I know nothing of mike force and unfortunately personal life leaves me no time to investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Load order: CBA \ other mods \ Pinned Down

Props to Viper1Zero for keeping Arma’s flame bright. An old Reddit post missing Pinned Down pulled me back. The last five years were rough for my family with cancer, an active shooter, and a brain hemorrhage. I went quiet. I’m back to make this better than before, and I won’t delete it even if negatives equal favorites, so long as there is still interest. Thanks to the thousands of subs. I honestly didn’t expect 100.

Design Pillars
Suppression-first: Under fire, AI shoot more and aim less precisely.
Accuracy lives in vanilla: Adjust precision/skill in your difficulty or mission.
Prefer gentler suppression? We may add small tuning, but the core loop stays.

@VastGM Thanks Man. Such is life. There is 10 reasons to delete this mod, but almost 10,000 to keep it up. ;) I appreciate the encouragement. :) With any luck things will work out next year. As of right now I barely have the time to respond to comments. :( Much less add everything I wanted to add to these mods.

In my opinion, this mod doesn't live up to its stated characteristics. All units (both enemies and allies) become completely suppressed, unable to hit even from 50 meters away.
The mod's goal is to increase the duration of firefights.
This is disgusting. Why are units immediately suppressed as soon as they spot an enemy? This isn't in the settings.:steamfacepalm:

An important tweak I figured out when using this with LAMBS: turn off this mod's AI Suppressive Fire setting. LAMBS already enables the AI to do suppressing fire, and having both on seems to make the AI significantly less accurate than they should be, doing too much suppressive fire and not actually targeting enemies directly.

@MrGyani If blink works but tunnel/blur do not on dedi, it’s usually timing or another mod wiping post-process.

@mikey74 so when im loading this on the dedicated server, missions occasionally arent putting into effect the tunnel, blurring and other effects. The eye blinking is working but none of the tunneling and red/yellow blurring. please advise, thanks
