I wrote to the MW base developer half a year ago and explained the problem. He didn't create a patch or a fix.

The MW base is just cool modern guns. But damn, let them be compatible with the depth buffer and shaders. It's not my concern, no matter how much I'd like it to be. If I were the developer of the weapons base, I would have made a fix.
It's almost 2026, and the MW base can't be used with a depth buffer to create shaders. Although it could be a nice combination.
I just often get messages saying there's a bug with this addon, or with another one. But it's not my bug. These aren't shader library bugs. All addons that don't work with GShader are the addons' problems, not the GShader library's.

Can you fix Gshader for MW base please? world and viewmodels both freeze when switching to a different regular item that is NON-MW base like an HL2 weapon or something

Okay I did some troubleshooting and the issue I posted on your CSM addon I now believe is an issue with the GShader Library.

With debug mode on, the "_rt_WPDepth" and "_rt_NormalsTangents" windows will just stop updating and just freeze after a short while and never unfreeze. "_rt_Fog" seems to break also. Whenever this happens the shaders also break.

This was tested with only this, your CSM Shader, and your Volumetric lighting shader as the only addons enabled. It happens on regular branch and x86_64 branch. I tried lowering resolution and it still freezes.

Not sure why this is happening.

Okay I figured out that the thing causing the double body is Enhanced Camera 2, but the model is transparent for some reason even with EH2 off

this addon seems to cause issues with wiremod e2 holos when loading, a heavy burst of holos would cause my game to crash

Ive also had the same issues with the depthBuffer and NikNaks errors, i feel like they shouldnt be required for the other shaders? Or atleast it should be shown as now required here

Very optional too, but now theres starting to be some shaders, maybe creating a collection to group them up and include other small dependencies sounds neat? But really i'd see just this Library and the other shaders you've made and or others have developed

Im an Addon Dev and the current one im working on seems to trigger errors from your latest update (29th Oct)

Many other of my subscribed addons would also trigger the same kind or error, the provided message is one of them, but some would be longer, but i did note that every single one of them trigger an error at that famous line 22, you should really check it out, please and thanks !

well not in that way
If i have a MW base weapon with a arc9 weapon in my inventory the C_hands of the arc9 swep will be invisible
idk how this addon causes the problem

Damn, I played Gmod so much I want to make it look a bit more nicer to spice it up and this mod is amazing, but one of my gripes with games is being a floating camera and never being able to see my body when looking down, I use Enhanced Camera 2 mod but it makes a dupe of my body behind me, I looked for other body camera mods and though they work, they have problems themselves, so it's a pain now of the usual mod I use doesn't work with this one, the alternatives are good but their mod creators need to sort the problems in their mods.

I hate being like this.

Finally figured out the issue! Somehow, something was a-♥♥♥♥ with one of the few FNaF mods I had and it was directly conflicting with this mod. I'm sorry if I kinda wasted your time, Mr. Akabenko.

I'm using Enhanced camera 2, I know that is why I see the extra body, but the problem is I like seeing my body, it's a weird thing but whenever I play games the first thing I do is look down to see if it has a view model of the characters body, so I'm more wondering if there is a way to still see my body with this mod, but I have a feeling there isn't

We have progress, though it's still giving me trouble.

It was able to grab the render target, but now its own global "shaderlib" is coming up nil. Once again, the affected files were fogmask.lua at line 16, hook.lua at line 313, and oddly enough, proton_detect.lua at line 68, which is funny as I use x64 GMod on Windows 10.

I'll keep checking for potential invisible conflicts, but if there is a possible fix on your end, keep letting me know. Thank you in advance, Mr. Akabenko!

Hello Mr. Akabenko,

I'm currently having issues with GShader Library that prevent me from using it or any of its associated mods. Loading into a map greets me with this Lua error:

[GShader Library] lua/autorun/client/fogmask.lua:7: bad argument #8 to 'GetRenderTargetEx' (number expected, got nil)

The GetRenderTargetEx value being nil is odd, and it seems to cause the viewport to break when using mods like the CSM shader someone else made using this library. I thought GWater 2 was to blame for this, as it seems to add additional graphics libraries to enable PhysX Flex water rendering. However, disabling and uninstalling that did nothing to fix it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

pretty much just breaks viewmodels by just copying the full model with practically no mods that majorly affect first person

Recently started causing some peculiar glitches with Vmanip. My viewmodel (c_hands with a weapon) start moving around the map when switching from an arc9/MWbase weapon to any other tool.

This all the sudden started messing with vmanip. It just makes it disappear when looking straight horizontal but comes back if you look up or down. I don't know whats happening.

when using ARC9 weapon and aiming with a scope at the skybox the skybox wont show but the outside of the scope while aiming does show

Check if you have Gmod Legs V3 installed, the way they simulated first-person legs was kinda janky and tended to break with certain mods. Uninstalling that fixed it for me, and the shader library wouldn't cause that sort of corruption.

It's a shame, this mod makes me have some distorted copy of my body behind me for some reason, probably clashing with another mod but it's a pain.
