I'm guessing you see that as perfectly fine. I'm also guessing it's your go to choice when you play, and that you use it specifically because it's undeniably one of the strongest weapons in the game. I know, because I've met a lot of people just like you when I tested TAO, the kinds of people who go straight for the Military Sniper and then leave the server when they realise it can no longer single-handedly carry them through the game.
The TAO Military Sniper has a much faster firing rate than the Hunting Rifle; more than 3 times faster. Whilst the damage per bullet is lower, it ultimately has a higher DPS than the Hunting Rifle. This means that when dealing with Tanks or other SI, the Military Sniper can secure kills faster than the Hunting Rifle, at the cost of expending more ammunition. The Military Sniper also performs better against common infected thanks to its larger clip size, and the Hunting Rifles higher damage being wasted.
