@SIN you can think of it as a sort of air filtration + cooling system, mimicry of breathing and such. Kind of like Lieutenant Commander Data from Star Trek!

Probably the only downside of this mod is that the robots from Robotrauma also have respiratory organs, so when playing as an unfeeling machine, it feels a bit strange to hear it breathing or sighing - a bit of ludonarrative dissonance occurs

I don't think this mod works anymore :( Tested it with freshly installed LUA and with no other mods installed, and I'm not hearing the breathing sounds.

Occasionally the mod just throws a bunch of index nil value errors instead of working, especially in singleplayer. It does happen sometimes in multiplayer too, but it does usually work there so idk what exactly the problem is for that.

Issue: Other players getting into a suit triggers omni-directional breathing sounds.

I second that, Alan. A volume knob (that goes all the way to 0) would be great, because not EVERYONE in my friend group wants to hear this.

YES FANTASTIC! I've been looking for a good audio mod that gives some love to the suits. I feel like coming back from unconscious should be a bit more dramatic/drawn out gasping. Otherwise 10/10!!!

for those of you still just now finding out, the lua mod ONLY installs the LUA INFORMATION, ok?
now enable it, host, server execuitable -> dedicated lua for barotrauma, start, get to the main lobby, hit F3, type in install_cl_lua and hit enter, if it worked you WILL have a popup saying restart, restart the ENTIRE game, look in top left of the screen and if there is red letters lua will then AND ONLY THEN be installed properly.

You should check main lua steam page, there is a paragraph about client-side lua. My mod needs exactly both client and main addon

You need to enable it in the mod list. It should show up in the required mods when people joining

But is it one of those client-side lua scripts that are always running in the background or does it need to be enabled in the mods list? And if it needs to be enabled, does it show up in the required mods list when people are joining, if I happen to host a server while using it?

Yes, it's client side only, because i thought that it would be not so realistic if you could hear someone else`s breath in a sealed suit and because it's a lot harder to implement server side sounds :)

It shouldn't really matter, but if you want to be extra safe when playing with modded suits, you can put the mod above the mod that adds custom suits
