Found it. The air vent was on a subgrid of the pressurized space. Moving it solved all issues. Thanks!

The red dot is the ship exterior, the target for the pathfind to reach. If that's inside your base then it's probably made of multiple overlapping grids.
If you feel this is a bug, please post a blueprint of the grid and I'll see what's up.

Hey! Great mod, helped me numerous times. But I have a case when the trace ends with a red dot and doesn't show a leak. Room is not pressurised.

I followed the steps in that article (pretty much the only thing I did was unsubscribe and subscribe again). The leak finder is now showing up in the air vent's control panel. Thanks for your help!

It is supposed to be in the terminal like in the screenshot.
The main menu meaning it was added to the world? Then probably it downloaded wrong, try: https://spaceengineers.wiki.gg/wiki/Fixing_Download_Corruption
If that still doesn't help, post the SE log because something ain't right.

How do you use this mod? Nothing happens when I open an air vent's control panel, and I don't have a section in its control panel for leak finder. I already subscribed to the mod and enabled it in the main menu of SE.

Sounds like a coincidence, this mod does nothing with items.

First, using any plugin loader or pretty much any game .exe that isn't the one the game shipped with? If so, try launching the normal game without that, that would see if there's an issue with some plugin (or mod brought in using that loader).

Then if the issue is stil lthere with game's official exe, can you post a screenshot of the issue (so I know where to look exactly) and post the world itself too, I'll check it out to see if I can find what causes it. Publishing both on steam is probably simplest, and drop the link here or DM me on discord @m_digi

i just downloaded the mod to help me find a leak and it removing all the item icons along with the items. it's like they are corrupted i cant use them and when i drop them the disappear from the world, is there something im doing wrong or does it not work with other mods?

Did you add it to the world? That's the critical part for any mod.
If you did, then send me the SE log of the session when you tried the mod (%appdata%/SpaceEngineers, sort by date and the latest SpaceEngineers_*.log) so I can see what's happening there.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm not seeing the Leak Finder button in the air vent terminal. I've unsubscribed, and re-subscribed a few times to no avail. Seems like an amazing mod. Wish I could get it to work.

i have fixed it, its because i was a major dumb guy and had no ice because the apex survival farm plots used all my ice in my mining rig

when trying to turn on leak finder in a build that i was SURE had no leaks it automatically sets itself to false and i have no idea how to fix it

Casing crash

The game always makes a log file when launched, the logs are in %appdata%/SpaceEngineers/ and SpaceEngineers_<datetimenumbers>.log are them, sort by date and find the one from that session.

If restarting the game solved it then it was most likely this: https://spaceengineers.wiki.gg/wiki/Modding/Reference/Known_Solutions_to_crashes_or_errors#Error_during_loading_session_/_IOException,_cannot_access_the_file,_used_by_another_process - which in short, whenever you get a new error that prevents loading a world, restart the game.

Not sure if I have one, I think it was a one off-thing.

Post SE log from when it failed to load

Restarting my game fixed it but until I did that, any worlds with this mod would fail to load with a 100% success rate.

This mod breaks worlds now, they will fail to load with this mod.

Works fine here, it's either a mod conflict or it downloaded wrong.
Try the mod by itself in singleplayer:
- if it shows up then it's probably a mod conflict thing, try the mods list from the server (or ideally the world itself) in singleplayer too to see if it reproduces.

Buttons not showing up (anymore) server resetted and client resetted several times, not working as of 06 May 2025

This mod is awesome! stupid easy to use, and really helped with the annoying task of finding what window or block is just barely under functional on your huge station that the leak could be in a thousand different places. thank you!

This is a mod, not a PB script. I don't know what you copied there but it certainly wasn't this as even if you somehow got this code into a PB, it wouldn't compile.

Unfortunary its not working (. I create Air Vent,lamp and programm block. Load script and.. all my lamp changed color to red.

The button is there but it's grayed out? that means either block is not fully built, not powered, not turned on, world settings have either oxygen or oxygen pressurization disabled (the last 2 would also be mentioned in the bottom-right of the block too, as "Oxygen or pressurization disabled").

I have added this to my dedicated server, but the Find button cannot be activated.

Did you add it to the world? If so, send me the SE log so I can see what's happening there. Either here or steam or discord.

Well it was linked in the description to redirect people here, and it's not a good idea to add mods without at least skimming the description, especially for a complex mod like buildinfo which is not for everyone. I've separated this because it's something that I want people to have without the bulk of buildinfo.
But anyway, I've added this as a dependency to buildinfo which will bring this automatically with it.
