This would need to be configurable per weapon and NPC for me to like it. If it were me, I'd also cut out a lot of the fluff and just leave the types and maybe weather-based weaknesses/resistances.
I'd be interested in a Weaknesses and Resistances system in Terraria, but not like this.

I've fixed the poison barb issue. As for mod support, my next goal will be to allow mod creators to add their own types to enemies and to allow users to create or override types.

I'm guessing official mod support is probably too much, but is there any way to allow mod support either through config files listing IDs and types or allowing mods to use this as a dependency?

Everytime I open any sort of a bag, it guarantees a poison barb. Hopefully this can be patched soon ^^

There's a bug where having Weapon Fusion mod installed will give you poison barbs when you right-click armor in your inventory.

IDK if this has been reported but opening any fishing related item always garentes a poison barb which is very busted for money and also idk if this was intentional but the palm wood sword is fairy type.

Not necessarily.
As far as the dungeon goes, a fair amount would be Dark, or Ghost, or Steel or Fighting in some cases, maybe even Fire, Water, and Ground if you wanna reach.
I see crimson and corruption falling under Poison more than Dark (the normal biome is called the purity; crimruption is literally 'poisoning' the land).
The addition of blood and bone types takes away from the mod imho not only because they aren't canon types, but because they do the exact thing you claim they were added to keep from happening.

When you say that vines are affected by type effectiveness, what vines are you referring to?
And the second, is fall damage just Normal type?

hit sound
ai type (vanilla ones)
spawn condition and tile condition
spawn location and biome

Ayy, I remember this mod from old tModLoader!

I wanted to add compatibility for mods back then, but I didn't (and still don't) know a single thing about modding Terraria.

Is adding compatibility to modded weapons/enemies something you'll consider in the future?
