It's clear we've been overworking ourselves releasing new chapters year after year, and now the remake has reached its conclusion, and that's a bit sad. But it'll be a grand and beautiful conclusion to the BS remake. I'm sure it'll be released on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the orig. H-L:BS in 2026, as well as a standalone game from the workshop. However, this'll depend on copyright and rights protection, especially from Gearbox Software. Full all rights reserved for the "Half-Life" series of games and add-ons, after all, owned by Valve. In general, once again, I wish the HECU Collective ONLY success in completing the BS remake!

I really wanted Chapter 6 of "Power Struggle" after a year, so much... And all we got was a new update! Well, it would be very fair and proper to release Chapter 6 and the remaining last two chapters as a complete package, thereby completing the BS remake itself.

UPDATE: I just used the launch option (-game bshift -oldgameui) and it worked, I don't know why bshift_launch isn't working for some reason. This either needs a fix/patch or seperate the .bat files like previous versions

I tried launching it with bshift_launch, I tried both options and NONE of them will launch Blue Shift

This mod really needs an update, especially the symbolic link.

One more thing, I had to load it through DXVK to play it without it crashing, at the main menu

Your guy's new update to Blue Shift needs some patching, every time it loads there's a 50/50 chance of crashing, also I'm getting frame drops at certain locations too in Xen and at the portal.

Oh, and not only that, the Crossbow from Focal Point & the different gameplay mechanics (player speed for example), can be imported to the original Black Mesa for consistency

I hope when Valve releases the Black Mesa Source Code (Xengine), HECU makes an update to Blue Shift that the custom enemies will no longer use map logics, because it will be...

no, it's just the caretaking patch they promised that adds content and patches stuff. I believe the last chapters will be very long to make. It"s not gonna be released any time soon.

After the new Caretaking Update, so far the game seems to crash straight to desktop when loading any new game with Dynamic Lights Quality set to Ridiculous, however on Ultra it works fine, along with every other option set to its maximum. Could just be me

Woah - spotted a 2.6 gig update to Black Mesa out of the blue, couldn't work it out - turns out it's Blue Shift!

Does this mean new chapters are gonna be auto-updated going forward? No more wiping and reinstalling?

This mod has to be DLC for the main game. It's incredible how complete it is and how it honors "Blue Shift" expansion entirely.

the famous creation of the custom folder is still required and therefore moving the mod files into the custom folder for the various mods to work correctly. However, in other mods in the workshop it says that it is no longer necessary. I mean, could you clarify for me since you are certainly much more expert than me and if so, can you also tell me if it is enough to move the VPK mods into the custom folder and that's it? Or if now you can just download them naturally from the workshop and they work immediately? Thanks for the answer.

Then look, I want to take this opportunity to ask you this question too because no one in the Black Mesa game forum is answering me in the discussions section. So basically I read in another thread about mods and regarding the famous creation of the Custom folder. I basically read that since Update 1.5, in theory, it is no longer necessary to create the Custom folder for the various mods that are in the workshop. But is this true or not? Because in some mods that I have checked now in the workshop,

Look, I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you some more questions, like: Will there ever be a chance that you or another group could also create an opposing force? Regarding the first installation method, some detail that I hope will help someone:

When you run the bshift_install.bat (simply double click the file), a CMD window should pop up and I had to 'Press any key...' to start the installation.
Once it starts there are no prompts other than lines updating in the command prompt window.
It took awhile! 15+ minutes

It also created a shortcut for me, so you don't need to out the -game bshift line in the startup settings alternatively.

There are Italian subtitles, but some lines may not be finished.
