@-STOP Assuming all versions are correct and so on, everything should work everywhere. I've heard that there's more to do as William the Conqueror, for instance, and I know from experience that anything happening along the Silk Road, in the Sahel or around the North Sea is richly enhanced. That goes both for vanilla and when using The Fallen Eagle.

Does rice mod work with the original new game like The Fate of England, Rag to Riches, etc.? Or it is only in the new game Rice (Wester, MidEastern, etc.)?

Thanks all for the kind words again! Turns out I got busier during Thanksgiving weekend than I anticipated -_- Early Dec looks like a likelier target release range. Pretty much done with almost everything, really just bugfixing/polishing right now and cleaning up some miscellaneous stuff, so hopefully not much longer. Thanks all again for your patience!

That's my mind issue. I don't actually mind much the upcoming content. But I don't want to start a new game only for it to be botched for the new update.

well, if you guys want to get your hands on the mod rn. they released a public beta build on their github a few days ago. but it's not savegame compatible with the full release version, though

This mod is more or less required to make the game even remotely playable. Thank you for your amazing work.

First, I appreciate the mod, but it is just sad that I can't enjoy vanilla without it after all this time. I went to try playing with Normans, and it took me a moment to realize the problem was not having this mod. Paradox is really doing a poor job making cultures feel different, and when it comes to flavor, it is even worse. Anyway, thanks for the work. I can't wait for the next update.

Hello all, just posted the 3rd and likely final version of the beta on GitHub - please see the GitHub link in the description for more info, and read the instructions there carefully. This should be close to the final release version, though it will not be savegame compatible (and it's also not savegame compatible with previous versions of the beta).

Hopefully I'll have things ready by the end of the month, or, if I get a bit busy IRL, first week of December. Thanks again for your understanding and support!

@Ayâlbátor, cybrxkhan is working on it and it will be done when it is done; remember that we're getting this for free and they are doing actual work to provide it. I don't mean to presume, but I suspect that they have a life beyond this screen.

They said that 1.18.0 will hopefully be out mid- or late November, but hope is not a deadline. if that does not happen it does not happen. I sincerely enjoy this mod and am excited for the new release, but to my knowledge cybrxkhan is under no obligation to release it at all, let alone this year (assuming that there are no solstice-based blood pacts of which I am unaware).

There are excellent versions of the mod and the game that you can play just as you may have done previously, mentioned in cybrxkhan's comment below and available on the GitHub linked from the description.

(@cybrxkhan I hope I'm not backseat modding or otherwise undercutting/speaking over you! Lmk if so.)

@Coalsack As Tankbuster mentioned, the official update will likely not be compatible with saves from the beta versions. If you want to continue a save on the beta you'll have to continue using the beta, so if you want to play the beta I suggest not doing any serious long-term playthroughs.

@NigelXElena The comments from Tilarium and Obsidious should answer your questions well in detail, but to add to what they said, but if you want to play a game of RICE on the old version of 1.17, you'll need to also unsubscribe from RICE on Steam, then download the manual install version of 1.17 on GitHub (see link in the description, scroll down to the most recent version for 1.17).

@NigelXElena If it helps in future, you can choose to set CKIII not to update, to update only when opened, or to open with a specific version from your Library page, under "properties" of the game. I am under the impression that mods will not update if you set it not to update at all, but don't know that for sure.

There are also utilities with which you can "save" an iteration of a playtest from the current version, though I haven't explored that option yet myself.

I can clearly see that tilarium is not a unintelligent human being. He is campaigning right now as Master antious in 877AD. And to everyone who is complaining about the date: You can wait and also VIET works just fine.

@Nigel You likely won't be able to use the 1.18 version of RICE with 1.17. If you have a 1.17 game going with RICE currently, I highly recommend you make a backup copy of RICE right now so you can keep it at 1.17.

Hey, love the mod and just want to thank you for the hard work you've put into it and for making it what it is. I'd like to ask whether or not my save that I had, a new game I had started with RICE on the version just prior (1.17.1) will still be playable once the current update you're working on is up? Or whether I will have to forego that save entirely. I have not touched the game at all since the OUH update, though my game did auto update along with all my other mods excluding RICE, as I do not want to potentially ruin the save by touching anything until done.

If the answer is a toss up that's up to chance then that's fine too but just curious if yk whether it'll still be playable by any chance.

Given that new cultures are slated to be added when RICE updates to 1.18, then no it won't be compatible with your save.
