We're always happy to adjust things related to game balance if needed, but I've not really seen any other comments saying UFP resource production is broken here or on our discord.
I'm not seeing players reference CTDs on our Discord, outside of an edge case we fixed a short while ago, so will need more information to diagnose and fix.
Photon Torpedos also look and operate underwhelming in that mod. Though a TOS Standalone Shipset would be the highest of my hopes. The TMP Era Shipset is presently my fave to use. TOS Era one would be very good, especially with an NSC Compatability patch to go with it.
Normally I use Cheek's for TOS hulls in non-total conversion games but it don't work 100% anymore.
I want to project power across the stars with the original connie, no bloody A, B, C, or D.
A few other techs are gated this way now. There's also a specimen you can unlock through anomalies or exploration cluster events that has a chance of getting it as well.
Also another question: TOS Era Federation Shipset standalone when?
I'm not keen do that with the full galaxy map. Tbh I see the quadrant maps as the main ones to build around; the galaxy maps are inherently going to result in odd situations due to the scale of the Star Trek setting not matching the scale of Stellaris.
Also a thought for the HUGE map. Have you considered [or even possible] to separate the Alpha/Beta, Gamma and Delta quadrants from each other via some how eliminating the hyperlanes so that only the bajoran wormhole and transwarp can get you from one to another?

There seemed to be a bug when we first brought it in connected to systems being too close together.
Monke - went for that colour as it's better delineated and canonical for the period.
Monke - dunno, haven't played it since I left it in '19. On a limb we're probably better at everything though.
