Secondly, it's not the creator of the addon you should be blaming, if you went into Pac3 and spammed a similar effect you'd lag just as badly. Source really doesn't like rendering a lot of refractive materials all at once, which is why this addon lags when you have a 150 prop brig in the water with props constantly dipping in and out of the drink.
TL;DR: It's not the addon that's poorly optimized, it's source/garry's mod itself. Don't piss on the mod creator.

also its called an fps drop. lag is for bad internet.
You also have to delete the file for it to remove it. Unsubscribing without doing that will just provent getting updates/patches for the file.
To remove it, go where Garry Mod is installed, open the file, then open another file with the same name (most likly lower case), go to addon and find and delete (or move it somewhere else) then whala it is gone. If you want to get rid of more without having it redownload the file again when lanching the game. Just make sure to unsubcribe any workshop items you no longer want before removing them.
