Combine Tactical Variants

For best performance, use this with 4-8 combine soldiers.


This mod allows you to use the combine soldiers' unique tactical thinking normally only set in the Hammer Editor. It is limited to two settings, Pressure the enemy and Pressure until within 30 ft, then normal. You can find them in the Combine [Tactical Variants] category.

When soldiers pressure the enemy, they advance constantly. This may not be noticable immediately after spawning the soldiers; they may just retreat to the nearest cover. However, they will suddenly charge at you, and they won't stop until you make them stop. Pressure until within 30 ft will have the same behavior, but they will revert to normal behavior when they are 30 ft away from you.

It's hard to explain in detail, but the point is that they are much more aggressive.

This is compatible with all add-ons (except iNPC), unless said add-on is incompatible with vanilla combine soldiers.

Can you make more tactical variants?
Not possible. The tactical variants used in this mod are part of the NPC itself, and were already in the game before you downloaded this mod. This mod just allows you to spawn NPCs with the appropriate setting to use these tactics.
