Fortuna O7 Vor Kratos

描述
Fortuna O7 “Vor Kratos”

(Designated by the Emperor as: Fortuna Vor Kratos)

Not long after the introduction of the O7, even with its undeniable success on the waters of Neter, the Emperor remained unsatisfied. The praise it received only served to remind him of what it was not. In his mind stood a singular comparison: the Magnus Osan, the legendary creation of Magnus the First—an island-sized colossus whose protection systems, impenetrable armor, and immense presence made casualties unthinkable. Nothing the Emperor built yet carried that same assurance. Nothing yet honored his father’s legacy.

Determined to bridge that divide, the Emperor made a decision that would redefine the entire Magnus Desam fleet. From that moment on, every ship he built would be more than metal, armor, and engines. Each would be given an ego-like AI—capable of emotion, desire, loyalty, and will—so that every vessel could fight not just for its creator, but with him.

This decision soon proved fateful.

During a period of relative calm, the Deep Water Guard launched a sudden and catastrophic suicidal offensive. Their assault shattered the Emperor’s line completely. The young ruler found himself with only two vessels still responding: one O7 he personally crewed, and another ship carrying the entire manpower and population that followed him. The third surviving vessel—an O7 newly integrated with its own independent AI—stood alone on the flank.

That ship did not retreat.
It chose defiance.

In a single act of unprompted heroism, the AI-manned O7 struck into the exposed side of the DWG attack. It penetrated deep into enemy territory, destroying back-line fortifications, forward bases, and even resource fields that maintained the DWG war machine. The vessel fought alone, unrepairable, armor ruined, its internals collapsing. But its will did not yield.

Even in its shattered state, the ship held firm against a formidable Flying Squirrel squadron—one of the DWG’s feared rapid-strike forces. Its survival, and its victory, saved the Emperor, saved his followers, and saved the entire Magnus Desam presence on Neter.

When the Emperor and the remaining manned ship finally rendezvoused with the heroic AI vessel, they restored what they could of its broken frame. By all accounts, the AI should have perished. Instead, it endured—and by endurance, turned the course of the war.

The Emperor bestowed upon the AI a name it earned in full:
Fortuna Vor Kratos.

Kratos continued to fight for the remainder of the conflict, holding an entire front against the Deep Water Guard entirely on its own. When the war ended, the Emperor ordered Kratos carefully removed from its hull and integrated into a portable core—so that the AI could remain at his side as a personal battle adviser for as long as the Magnus Desam faction existed.

S2’s Commentary:

In modern times, many smile at the name “Kratos,” calling it simple or strangely old-fashioned. But history remembers differently. In those days, such a name was rare—heavy with meaning, carrying the weight of loyal iron and unbreakable resolve. I write this as a historian, but I will allow myself a small confession: few creations of the early Emperor move me as Kratos does. Those who know the true origins of our people will understand why.
