THIS IS A DEMO! EXPECT ISSUES, ESPECIALLY IN MULTIPLAYER AT THIS TIME!

SP/CO-OP [1-10]

Summary

Strap into your jet as a member of the Independent State Allied Forces and fight the Erusean military to take back the Usean continent! Play through 4 missions (12 planned) inspired by various levels from the arcade flight simulator series Ace Combat.

Players can choose from planes such as the indomitable F-15C Eagle, the iconic F-14A Tomcat, or the mighty A-10C Warthog to name a few. Each mission features a cohesive storyline, full voice acting with dozens of REAL actors, music from the Ace Combat series, and plenty of enemies to shoot down.

This campaign is best played cooperatively with up to 10 players, but players will have the option to play in singleplayer as well.

Important Notes
There are currently a variety of issues present when playing the multiplayer version of the campaign on a dedicated server. Some of them don't seem to be present when playing on a locally hosted/listen server.

In the multiplayer versions, the F-14s and F-18s start on an aircraft carrier in missions 1 and 4. If you do not play as them, I recommend turning off their AI since I haven't figured out how to get them to launch from their carriers yet. They'll just drive around the flight deck until they crash.

This campaign is meant to be played on Regular difficulty with unit map markers on. Using ACE is not recommended.

When playing in multiplayer, there is a 20-second delay when the mission starts before the briefing. This is to account for players with older PCs. In singleplayer, this delay is only 1 second long.

If missions aren't ending for some reason, press 0 0 1 to use the Radio End function to end the mission.

Mission 3 has a high enemy count, so expect lower frames. However, it contains a script that cleans up units shortly after they're destroyed. Set CH View Distance to 6000 and destroy enemies quickly!

Once again, this is a DEMO and issues aside from the ones listed below may be present. Please report any bugs you encounter!

Flyable Planes

Mage Squadron: 2x F-15Cs armed with air-to-air missiles. The best air superiority fighter available to players.

Sorcerer Squadron: 2x F-16Cs armed with air-to-air missiles. Less ammo than other planes, but provides a good challenge for ace pilots.

Golem Squadron: 2x A-10Cs with a variety of air-to-ground weapons and 2x Sidewinders for self-defense. The ultimate in close air support. Substitutes for Sorcerer Squadron in air-to-ground missions.

Wizard Squadron: 2x F-18Cs armed with air-to-air and air-to-ground weapons, depending on the mission. Multi-role fighter that can also assist Golem Squadron in dealing with ground targets.

Warlock Squadron: 2x F-14As armed with air-to-air weapons (and large bombs on SP versions of Missions 2 and 3). While not as heavily armed as Mage Squadron, their RIO-controlled Phoenix missiles can engage targets from extreme distances. (Note: In multiplayer, the pilot controls the Sidewinders and the RIO controls the Phoenixes and Sparrows. In singleplayer, the pilot controls all weapons.)

Missions

01. Sitting Duck
Defend Athira Airbase from enemy bombs and their fighter escorts.

02. Juggernaut
Protect an armor platoon’s advance on Agia Marina by destroying enemy ground and air targets.

03. Operation Bunker Shot
Assist allied landing teams in taking multiple beaches held by the enemy.

04. White Noise
Escort a rescue helicopter as it searches for a crash site.

More missions are planned for a total of 12!

Known Issues

Multiplayer: Dedicated Servers
When firing missiles at any Pook planes, a series of stutters occur until the missile hits or misses and ceases tracking. This seems to happen 75% of the time. I've let the developer of Pook Soviet Overhaul know about this issue. This issue doesn't seem to happen on singleplayer and locally hosted multiplayer servers.

For whatever reason, many dialogue triggers don't play on a dedicated server. These seem to work fine on singleplayer and locally hosted multiplayer servers.

03. Operation Bunker Shot
After briefing, friendly planes will often start at 0km/h and immediately enter a stall. Starting altitude is high enough for players and AI to throttle up and exit the stall. Hold Shift and pull up!

This mission may be difficult to win in singleplayer if the player isn't controlling an A-10 due to friendly AI behavior. I may move the friendly A-10s closer to be more effective.

04. White Noise
This mission may freeze about a few minutes in. Sometimes this will pass after a short time, but I recommend restarting as quickly as possible.

Very ambitious mod, this is what sets the Arma 3 modders leagues apart. I hope you can pull it off, the demo looks cool

@amzingdxge Future missions do have return lines set up for the player to repair and rearm since they’ll have more targets to destroy. I did want to pretty up the briefings and maps a bit, but I had already gotten pretty burned out by then and just wanted the missions themselves to be done. Debriefings could be in the cards for the future if I can figure out a nice way to present them.

Amazing campaign, I cant wait to see more, the voice acting and atmosphere really nailed that Ace Combat feeling.

though I do wished that it was abit arcadey, like being able to reload missiles mid-air combat like the actual game.

And the briefings was more interactive, per say (moving icons on the map similar to Spearhead Campaign). Also, an actual debriefing would be really nice.

YES!!! I'd been planning on making an Ace Combat campaign myself in ArmA to cope with the wait, I'm so glad this came out!

You've made the wait for Ace Combat 8 a bit more bearable dude.

Hi, too much dependence on mods. I haven't played the game yet, but I'm downloading, and my storage is full. :steamfacepalm: Over 160,000 mods and I don't know the approximate total size of Arma 3 Steam workshop mods. LOL! :steamhappy: Thank you. :steamthumbsup:
