Boiling Eggs [B42]

描述
This mod fills a gap in the cooking system by adding simple boiled egg recipes. Cook eggs in boiling water to create Poached Egg[pzwiki.net] and Boiled Egg[pzwiki.net].

Why Use This Mod?
  • Did you survive the chickenpocalypse? Now you're trying to stop it from happening again by eating every egg.
  • Sick of having only baked eggs on the menu?
  • Chasing that protein high to keep your Strength maxed out?

Then this mod is for you! It adds the 2 recipes missing from vanilla to unlock Boiled and Poached egg variants, so you can diversify your eggs and get a consistent protein source without hurting happiness by eating the same "baked" eggs repeatedly.

Key Features
  • Boil eggs in hot water from the context menu, similar to the sterilizing bandages process
  • Boil eggs using the Crafting Menu (requires being near a hot water source)
  • Minimal water consumption per action

Compatibility
  • Last tested on B42.12.3
  • Uses vanilla egg items and only adds missing recipes, so the mod has no compatibility issues

Mod Versions
This mod includes two versions - enable only one:
  • Ivmakk_BoilingEggs (Main) - Requires hot/boiling water for realistic cooking. Recommended for single-player.
  • Ivmakk_BoilingEggs_B42MP (Experimental) - Works with cold water (initially created to support MP but can be used in SP too). Thanks for contribution and testing to @Tidore

@Vico just google "B42 Multiplayer - Death Legion" - you’ll find it on Nexusmods (I’d rather not post external links since Steam sometimes aggressively bans them along with the mod page).

Disclaimer: I’m not using DLMP myself and only know about it from the community. I added the experimental mod support just because @Tidore and @Gallion396 asked about it, and some other users may wanna try it on MP :)

@Tidore I can add it as a submod with the only difference being that the recipe fully skips the boiling process. But I’ll need someone to help test if it works properly in MP. If you can reach me on the official PZ Discord (same username and avatar) and help test that version, it would be great.

@galkinzhenia I don’t want to copy or replicate the same pickling recipe from another working mod out of respect for its author’s work. Any reason not to just use it directly?

I'd like to use this mod in DLMP 42BMP, but as you know, there's a boiling issue.

To modify the mod to skip the boiling process and create, I'd need to upload the modified version to the Workshop and distribute it, but that might violate DMCA regulations.

Could you please upload the modified version separately for MP users?

@GarglingGlass I saw a ready mod for that - [B42] Make egg jar , so you can try it. I haven’t used it, so I’m not sure if it still works, but there are no issues reported on its page. If it doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll add the recipe here.
