Sadly the models layout doesnt allow for that.
Well that is good to know, but even so I will not change it on the dragonfly as the modelled cameras on it are only front facing as well. But still useful to know generally.
Pilot cams can definitely work in helis. Off the top of my head, I can think of OPTRE's Hornet being a single-seater and having a well-working camera. I've also personally added pilot cams to the vanilla helicopters. That being said, I'm not sure why the camera won't turn on the Dragonfly, but I'm gonna keep troubleshooting and will let you know if I find a solution.
Only the scout having cameras is intentional.
Not being able to turn the cams is a limitation as the game does not support pilot cams for helis, unlike for planes, to my knowledge.
