Introduction
Soldier's Song provides an all-encompassing expansion of flavour and mechanics for the Irish countries in EU4. Whilst maintaining the principles and 'feel' of vanilla Europa, the mod boasts an expansion of the Irish mission tree, updated great projects and graphics for the Irish culture group, three unique religious paths, an explorer's expedition westward inspired by the fabled voyage of Saint Brendan, as well as plenty of flavourful events to immerse the player.

Please feel free to provide any feedback/bug reports in the comments. I will do my best to work through everything I may in my spare time. Note that this is my first mod and sort of a passion project. I've used Soldier's Song as an excuse to learn everything about modding in Europa with the hopes of preparing myself to become more active in 'Project Caesar's' modding community when it releases. :]

Lastly, it should be noted that I tie in certain mythos and not-proven references from Ireland's history alongside my own fictional flavour (i.e. an independent Meath and its unique government form). I'm vastly limited regarding the time I may allot myself for research purposes, so I do not expect everything in this mod to be whole of historical and factual integrity. Ireland was colonised by England in our timeline, the last time I checked.

I preordered cuz imma fiend for europa, but I totally get you its best to wait and see. Feel free to let me know if there's any other bugs you encounter I'll do my best to fix w.e I can given time! As for compatibility, 90% of this was first time C# for me so there's definitely bound to be issues that may conflict with other mods, I'll be sure to prevent that in the future with what I've learned :>

You're welcome, I saw that the Marines got some buffs, so that's a great deal.
I got some bugs on my games, but I play with mods and I guess some of them a probably creating conflicts. I'll probably play it vanilla to be sure there's no problem. I'm playing with some of the expanded family mods and some other stuff that is not supposed to have a major impact on the game but we never know ^^"

Anyway, I'm eager to see what's to come and I hopt you'll continue to update this mod even when EU5 will be out. I'm sure some people will wait a bit and stay on EU4, just to be sure that EU5 is worth x)

Thank you for sharing your ideas! I did originally intend to code a special unit type for the mod. Unfortunately, the way its coded meant that I would have had to modify one of the preexisting special units, which would have limited the mod's compatibility with other stuff. This is why I ended up buffing marines through various means to make them feel a little more special with the mod. It also ended up being what inspired me to create the Maraglass and test out estate stuff. As for flagship mods, I had originally kept it in mind but never gotten around to it. Now that you've reminded me, I might try adding something unique next patch!

Hii ! Thanks for the mod, I've seen it on some videos, like the one Quarbit did. That's what gave me te will to play with it !

I was thinking about maybe adding some new units, like a special one for the celtic religion/culture and maybe some new flasgships doctrines or even a new special naval unit. Giving the feeling that now that you have overcome all the struggle, you may now rise and show the world that you'll never fall behind.

I don't know if it's already on your watch, but I hope it is !

Been enjoying the mod so far but just wanted to let you know a bug I encountered. I received "The English Ultimatum" event where you go to war with them after the war of roses *after* I completed "Dismantle English rule." All it did is remove them as their special vassal type, turned them back to regular English colors and name, and forced me into a war with them.

ill take a look at the expedition event chain, and brittany could be a fun lil mission somewhere in the tree, ill look into both of these when i have time!

how do you get the expedition quest chain for the "tale of saint brenden" mission? is it just on a long timer or does it need other requirements not listed in the event to fire?
I did it before I got to tech 5 and exploration, so i'm not sure if that could have been the cause. or else, unlocking the maraglass naval doctrine first.

Shouldn't there be an option to get claims on Brittany (and maybe Galicia) to unite all the Celts?
