MH: Utility Drones[MH:UD]

Mechanical Humanlikes Utility Drones is a related mod to Mechanical Humanlikes and Drones Reprogrammed to bring a new set of mechanical drones into the colony for utilitarian purposes.

Highly specialized drones that excel at particular tasks - what they lack in generalization they make up for in capability.

If there are any generous souls out there, art assets to replace the placeholders for the three races would be greatly appreciated (and credited)!

Want to translate MH:UD to your own language? Go to the GitHub (linked below) and submit a pull request. I make no guarantees that languages besides English will have mistakes corrected in a timely manner.

Features:
  • Introduction of utility drones to RimWorld, using Mechanical Humanlike's framework.
  • An astonishing lack of art assets!
  • The Grunt, a workhorse drone specialized in dealing with unskilled labor.
  • The Envoy, a fragile drone capable of social skills and excellent versatility, but unable to do most labor tasks.
  • The Overseer, a hyperspecialized drone capable of mechanic and research work, but almost nothing else.
  • Two scenarios utilizing the new races (one requiring Military Tiers) that will prove very difficult. Can a drone hive survive alone, or will sapients take command?

@WJSabey: Likely a mod conflict. Mods like Allow Tools mess with work types and can make things not work. Try removing it.

Something doesn't seem right; grunt drones have the "Renderer" and "Chef" directive things available and you can give them points in cooking skill, but they are locked from enabling the cooking job type.

hey so how are you intended to do the autonomous scenario? you start with basically no tech, no resources, your drones cant even shoot things, im just wondering cause it seems like its broken on my end or something?

You could just use the t1 or t2 android body and the drone head, it would make it look less strange when it put clothes on

Hello! I can't seem to get my new grunt drone to enable cooking skills. When I reprogram it, cooking is not included on the list of skills on the left, and I cannot enable the Chef or Renderer directives since the cooking skill isn't enabled. Can anyone advise?

I love the tool tip for the "Friend" programming, "Funny drones" ty!

Also for anyone confused about the robots and is directed to this comment section,
If the robot you just made is downed and it says "Blank drone" you need to preform a operation on them called Reprogram!

I TLDR'd this tbh and i hope that helps someone, lol
