If you only insert one item, it might also work with a mod that allows stacking up to 32.
This 32-stack limit is probably for everything where the maximum is normally limited to 8
Original using blood in the research terminal is not working, even if you can insert it.
32 stack overrides the alien blood, thus it removes the changes made by my mod that allow the blood to be put into the research terminal and turned into genetic material.
Basically, anything that changes alien blood will act the same.
You could try putting 'Extract It' above the '32 stack' so it gets more priority, this may fix it.

You need tons of "Stabilozine" anyway for research and for crafting medicine because it's used in so many things.
I make a lot of "Plastiseal," which is much better and more useful than "Bandages."
"Bandages" can be bought in bulk, as well as made with "Organic Fiber." "Elastin" can also be obtained and built in large quantities early on if you have a mod that makes plants visible on the sonar.
Remaining "Elastin" for "Antibiotic Glue"
2 "Opium" -> 1 "Morphine"
1 "Opium" + 1 "Stabilozine" -> 1 "Naloxone" (This is also often needed for "Morphine" since "Opium" can no longer be used as a mildly addictive substance because the effects are now more severe.)
I still remember playing medic before the talents rework. They had a perk that gave you some experience for "researching and combining genetic materials", but it was basically given for whatever you do at the research station - including researching blood with my mod. My character would get entire levels of extra experience just from doing this. Good times, haha.
