I have taken the liberty to revamp some of the issues I found with this mod (also what I saw people request on the mod's comments).

I have:
> removed the script that is no longer needed, making it compatible with external script mods
> created a firing sound to something more appropriate to a 7.62x54r round (hope you like it!)
> replaced the scope's lens mesh and .vtf textures (borrowed from twilight sparkle's HK-416C mod, which is absolutely beautiful, be sure to check out his original work too!)
> removed the reticle mesh and textures

See screenshots for visual changes. Firing sound you will have to sample for yourself.

All credit goes for the weapon models and animations goes to the original authors, find their work at the link above.

Since I didn't create the original model or animation, I don't know if it has casing particles. Feel free to enlighten me if you know how to create them!

I could separate the sound out, but I'm a bit lazy to do it unless there is a big demand for it.

Regarding the shell casing... I don't know since it isn't my original model or animation. But that's a great question!

id recommend making the sound an alternate mod but its not really an issue. the BIG thing is: does it have casing particles B)

@Marilyn Monroe apparently it was the fact that it was in parenthesis. Go figure. Steam is great, but Steam is awful, know what I mean?
