Unlike previous instances of the community losing a pawn, the controlled character did not return to info_player_start, instead being stuck in the floor. This event marked the first instance of ord_error appearing. According to the text on ord_error, this event had caused "unhandled exceptions" and that whatever is being controlled in the view renders needed to be "re defined". This would lead to the communities ability to sacrifice players through VUL.

A probe would be seen again briefly in view #191 on the Portal 2 map sp_a3_01, with a Combine Elite pointing up at something.

In view #123, on rp_construct_v1, a community map for Garry's Mod, a void probe was found. The community possessed the probe, but was unable to control it. When possessed a Combine Elite had suddenly appeared in the probe. Notably Anomidae's player-model in Garry's Mod during Interloper 7 was a Combine Elite. The Elite would grab the camera, and even seem to shake it's head at the communities attempts to control it, instead moving the probe until it landed in the Team Fortress 2 map cp_dustbowl, where the probe would disappear.
