-go to tavern, export troop tree
-go to and open with NP++ or similar
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Mount & Blade II Bannerlord\Modules\exportname\ModuleData\troops.xml"
-edit where it says
<Equipments>
<EquipmentRoster>
<equipment slot="Body" id="Item.bandit_envelope_dress_v1"/>
<equipment slot="Leg" id="Item.wrapped_shoes"/>
</EquipmentRoster>
so that there is only one "EquipmentRoster" entry OTHER THAN the civilian=true entry
you should have ONE EquipmentRoster AND the EquipmentRoster civilian=true
-save and exit game, save and exit the xml
-open game and enable the exported list under "mods" in menu BEFORE launching game
-go to tavern, import tree
-you should have two "recruit" and two "elite recruit" options in the troops list, no idea why two.
(i just named one "zzz" and "zzzelite" in case i wanted them later or sthg)
of course, if you want more than 1 variant but not 4 specifically, just add/remove the
<EquipmentRoster>
<equipment slot="Body" id="Item.bandit_envelope_dress_v1"/>
<equipment slot="Leg" id="Item.wrapped_shoes"/>
</EquipmentRoster>
in the appropriate areas as needed.
