I've helped with the planetarium chance mod, if you put the resource folder with items_metadata, and remove "nogreed" from trinket id 152 then the chance will at least show up. This will allow the telescope lens trinket to show up in greed mode. It won't be accurate because you use a different calculation than the base game, but we can cross that bridge when we get there. Cool mod btw

You can’t just change “items_metadata.xml” file. That is a compatibility nightmare and wouldn’t be worth it at all.

I'm confused. I'm thinking of something like the no useless greed trinkets mod where they have a items meta data file in the resource folder in the mod. Not changing the actual game.

Putting the “items_metadata.xml” file in the resources folder is the very definition of “changing the actual game”. Long story short, I would love to do this, but it’s just not worth it.

Maybe if the API improves to let us change only one item at a time instead of replacing the entire file, or allowing us to update the tags on init or something then this can happen
