Setting up a Murder GMOD game server
Since no one on the internet or the creator of this fine gamemode doesn't want to say much on how to make a server for Murder, I will help all in need of setting up one of these. You must have the essential GMOD dedicated server and portforward so others may join. I'm not telling you how, look it up.
Files:
- GMOD server
- murder_187073946.gma (found in the addons folder in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\GarrysMod\garrysmod\addons)
- GmadconvGUI

Steps:
1. Unzip the GmadconvGUI folder and open it. Inside is a file called GmadConvGUI.exe. RUN IT.
2. Click "Convert a Single File" and select the murder_187073946.gma. It will make a folder in the same place as the .gma was. The folder is called "Murder." Open that folder.
3. Inside this folder is three files, two folders and an info.txt. Open the gamemodes folder, inside is another folder called "murder."
4. Open your GMOD server and go to the gamemodes folder inside the server files. Drag the murder folder from the murder_187073946.gma stuff created and put it inside the gamemodes folder inside the server files. (This part may be confusing to some, if so, be calm and message me or post a comment on here and I'll reply and try to help).
5. In the "Murder" folder, there's another folder called materials. In the gamemodes folder in the GMOD server, open the "murder" folder and drag the "materials" in with the other files INSIDE "murder."
6. Close out all the folders and whatnot. You can delete the leftover files that we didn't use if you want to. Restart or start your GMOD server. When loaded, in the console, type "gamemode murder" and it will say that the gamemode has been changed to "murder (Murder)"
7. Have fun!

When I made the server I did everything but it shows up with Lua Error:
Couldn't include file 'murder\gamemode\cl_init.lua' <File not found> <<nowhere>>

hey please respond on when i play murder on my server and im the murderer when i knife its a messed up kinfe animation and when the guy like rubs his fingers on the knife its fast and messed up and i dont know how to fix it please help

That is client side problems. If everyone else is experiencing the same thing, then it's something with the server. Get back to me if everyone else has the problem, then it's your server.

I keep getting the "Cannot find Lua!" error whenever I try to join. I did everything in yoru post, even was able to change the gamemode successfully. Help :(

I type gamemode murder in the consol, but it dosen't change the gamemode.

This may be a slight thing, not sure if it will work, but have another copy of the murder_187073946.gma (may have a slightly different name considering it updated), in the addons folder IN THE GMOD SERVER FILES. (reason I do caps is because some people don't read and assume other things.

I'm having the same problem as x_ShadowFox_x132. I keep getting the error that the server was unable to include murder\gamemode\cl_init.lua.

With the lua errors, there is missing files. There are files that you must try to get on your own, I cannot help you that much with it. Later I'll see if I can get a link to the missing LUA file.

K I finally fixed it all you have to do is remount or reinstall cstrike and mount it in your cfg and dont put cstrike in you gmod folder because it may have issue mounting.
