CLV-25 "Hitori" Aviation Cruiser

Opis
The CLV-25 "Hitori" is a ship borne of harsh political realities. Following the end of the Third Unification War, the outer planets were not allowed to develop or produce full-fledged aircraft carriers like the CVN-19. The CLV-25 was a dream in the eyes of the craziest politicos and admirals - a versatile and ancient Ikuyo Aerospace cruiser airframe adapted to carry small, elite squadrons anywhere in the system. Capable of commanding local regions of space using her powerful complement of fighters and bombers, and striking at the largest capital ships with her battery of spinal railguns the CLV-25 is adapted for missions big or small and functions as a fully autonomous, self supported space station.

Armament
  • 4x 200mm Spinal Railguns: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 12x 155mm Artillery Turrets: 2km maximum firing range.
  • 5x 25mm Point Defense Turrets: 800m maximum firing range.

Standard Complement

Features
  • All Environments: Boasting a powerful hydrogen propulsion system, the CLV-25 is capable of landing on all planets and moons in gravity up to 1.5G. The patented over-unity refuelling system enables the ship to operate entirely off of water-ice as both fuel and power source. Additionally, the CLV-25 is the first ship in the Ikuyo Aerospace fleet to feature a dedicated primary Ion drive array and SNP-2900R Liquid Thorium Reactor.
  • Durable and Maintainable: The CLV-25 is an expensive and expansive ship, and as such features multiple redundant systems and subsystems. A hybrid armored skirt keeps critical components safe, and what damage does ensue can be easily repaired thanks to its easily accessible components and self-repair projector.
  • Highly Versatile: The CLV-25, is capable of a variety of independent operations using the small hangar and production facilities of its own. Capable of carrying an entire squadron of light fighter aircraft, the CLV-25 is capable of supporting and conducting a wide variety of military or civilian operations.
  • Survival Ready: Fully plumbed and survival ready. No subgrids present. Designed foremost to be easily repairable and serviceable.
  • Freshly Detailed: Ikuyo Aerospace's Titan shipyard has recently acquired a large enough pressure washer to clean accumulated interstellar dust off of capital ship hulls. Enjoy the new, fresh look of the hull.

Datasheet
  • PCU: 31,407
  • Block Count: 3,501
  • Non-Armor Blocks: 1,730
  • Triangles: 8,807,318
  • Grid Mass: 4,591,614kg
  • Lifting Capacity: ~2.5 Large Cargo Containers, 1.2 Mkg in 1G.

Scripts
Three scripts are included by default. Whip's Auto Door and Airlock, AutoLCDs 2, and Whip's SIMPL. All of these are optional and in no way effect the critical functions of the ship. A number of additional AI blocks, event controllers and timers have been left for end-user customization.

DLCs and Redistribution
This ship is vanilla but uses a large amount of DLC.

Notes
This ship took me a long time. The original idea was based loosely off the BC-304 Prometheus from Stargate SG-1, and it was originally a far larger ship. Overtime it shrunk in size and mass, got more maneuverable, and somehow got more hangar space. You might be able to call this a "heavy destroyer", but it follows Outlands size classification pretty well for a cruiser so thats what I've stuck with.

Special Credits
This design took tremendous inspiration the work of Alzumi's Factorum Research Ship, especially for the reactor room core. Special thanks to all the people on the Lunar Kolony server who gave me feedback on the design in its many stages.

Suggestions
I'm always open to suggestions or ideas so please let me know if you have any! This is designed to be a truly multi-role vehicle so as always, please feel free to post any modifications or remixes you make - no attribution required.

I think against players who know the ship well id prefer to be in the bridge but the CIC has the advantage of being sandwiched between decoys and weapon blocks which seems to help draw fire away from it fairly well.

I really like the way the ship looks, all the access to important systems, and the amount of interior you managed to cram into the vessel is quite impressive, though I can't help but feel that the flight bridge would be a safer place to fly the ship from than the CIC given its location and relatively weak and exposed block as the ceiling.

You're welcome to use any or all of it however you'd like, although I might have been tempted to say no if you were a Nod sympathizer lol

Screenshots don't do this justice. The internals are just amazing on this. I wouldn't be surprised if every functional block is accessible by the engineers. Feels like a real ship.

This ship is neat! Finally taking a good proper look and I'm definitely liking the concepts in place here so far. Mind if I borrow some ideas from it for a GDI-themed carrier?

hmmm.. looks interesting.
