Beskrivning
This is not meant to be used as standalone, this is for N-pack only.
It is encouraged to quickswitch weapons, because it's fun.

You can one shot almost everything.
But you go down just as fast.
You are a glass cannon.

My own scripts are largely basic cvars, gamemode edits, & overall balance.
This changes or improves upon some existing scripts, combines or tweaks them.
I'm disgusted by vanilla's artificial difficulty that turns enemies into bullet sponges.

L4D2's meta is always shotguns & melee, my mod changes that and spices things up.
All weapons & items are now viable, each gun & item serves its own distinct purpose.

The overall changes are;

- Witch & tank hp, ai, dmg, speed.
- Weapon magazines, dps, recoil.
- Minigun, and explosion damage.
- Friendly fire, reserve ammo, etc.

Movement with different tier weapons affects your run speed, it's balanced around damage.

Enfield (Scout) has a chance to replace a tier 1 shotgun at the start.
Pipe bombs function as frag grenades, they have a very short fuse.
Chrome is accurate but less powerful, pumpshot is the polar opposite.
The witch serves as a penalty for rushers, you must always group up.
On casual difficulty friendly fire is disabled, and witches cannot instakill.

Tanks are very weak to explosions, look for pipe bombs or propanes.
Tank HP is difficulty based, take a look at the gun damage values.

Casual - 40.000k
Remedial - 60.000k
Aggressive - 70.000k
Nightmare - 80.000k

Credits;

Chimi for reload mechanics, fixing scripts and helping make my own slop.
Pipe bomb explosion damage made by Nescius, makes explosions useful.
Realistic damage with friendly fire vscript lazily used as a base for guns.
CHAOS for the short beta inspired pipe bomb fuse, can't live without it.
Tank Enabler made by RF, a very simple boss prohibit disabler, not much.
Weapon Weight Script has been tweaked to replace tactical movement.
Survivor Defib Ragdolls taken and adjusted to use unsafe positions by default.
Dynamic Light, molotov glow radius increased, pipe glow off, optimization.

Special tanks to Rayne and Uni for actual feedback & various help.

linux not being made for games, quite the shocker

I figured out that the shadow bug only happens on the Linux version of L4D2 with this mod
idk why but it's just the Linux build, when ran through Proton the shadows look as they should, sucks you have to run it through Proton to avoid a very distracting bug

If you don't wanna use the mod - don't use it.

ok and what if i just don't wanna use nightmare? what if i just wanna make my own collection? and also i don't need this add-on anymore so don't bother to answer

I'm being straightforward, there's nothing mean about it. I don't understand the issue your friend is experiencing. Nightmare shouldn't be complex to install, it works out of the box, you're doing something wrong. To tell if you can use this with other mods or not, you need to see if there are any conflicts first. In your main menu, go to addons tab and make sure to resolve conflicting mods, then restart the game.

and also, i know this is supposed to be used WITH nightmare, i am just asking if it can work with OTHER mods. and again, calm down, jeez
MegaDarkStalin 31 aug @ 13:15
ok but calm down i tried nightmare with a friend and it wouldn't load and for him it took an eternity to set up (due to needing to sort the mods one by one, because some would get in the external hard disk and some in the internal memory) but you don't need to be so mean if i just want an alternative

All it takes to install Nightmare is a couple of clicks, I don't understand what's hard and heavy about pressing mouse1. The description answers your question with the very first sentence, you answered yourself in your own comment at the start as well.

i know this is supposed to be used with nightmare, but can it work with other mods? i am trying to make a personal horror collection, but with less mods for me and my friend (nightmare is too heavy and hard to install) so, like it's the warning there just beause this is meant to be used with nighmare or because otherwise it doesn't work?

Ok... So... Uh, solved
It's my fault for expecting Valve to not have ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spaghetti code on a 10+ year old game and be consistent across different Operative Systems.

SO, I forgor to mention that I'm currently using Pop OS, based on Ubuntu 22.04, using the native Linux build for L4D2. It's basically flawless except for, aparently, ESPECIFICALLY the shaders are coded differently and nothing else (and the sprays, I can't use custom sprays on Linux).

Anywho, for me and the 3 other ppl using Linux for gaming, just throw the Linux build on the trash and use Proton (or Windows)
