Improve your vehicles with the Vanilla Vehicles Expanded - Upgrades, a mod which offers a revolutionary enhancement to your vehicle management in-game. This mod introduces a comprehensive upgrade system that allows players to customize and enhance their vehicles using valuable resources.

Here’s what you can expect:

- Tailored Customization: Each vehicle in your fleet can be individually upgraded with unique enhancements, from reinforced armor and engine covers to offroad tires and cargo expansions.

- Impactful Choices: Every upgrade comes with significant advantages but requires strategic resource investment, making your decisions impactful as you develop vehicles suited to various tasks.

- Dynamic Visuals: Upgrades are not just statistical; they also change the appearance of your vehicles, adding layers like armored treads and upgraded exhaust systems that visually reflect your modifications.

- Diverse Enhancements: Choose from a variety of enhancements that boost speed, improve armor, increase cargo capacity, and more, each tailored to different vehicle types, from explorers and haulers to combat-ready tanks.

We’re excited to utilise what Vehicles Framework has to offer, and you can expect more vehicle upgrades to be added to this mod later down the line.

Traveller

Wisent

None of the Tier 3 vehicles are currently planned to have access to the upgrade system. That is because the Upgrade system exists to:

a) Bridge the gap between Tier 1 and Tier 2, making Tier 1s usable and valid in late game.

b) Slightly benefit Tier 2 to make them more specialized in late game.

Tier 3 vehicles are already as specialized and powerful as we like them. As such, upgrades won’t exist to make them even stronger.

This mod has undergone testing, but there may still be issues that you come across. It’s essential that you report any issues related to Vehicles Framework directly to Phil via the Framework mod page - not to me. I can’t fix these issues.

Q: Where can I find change logs?
A: Check change notes.

Q: Why are there no upgrades to flying vehicles?
A: Upgrading flying vehicles has not been our priority just yet. When more flying-related mechanics make it into Vehicles Framework, we will reconsider our stance.

Q: Why is this a separate mod?
A: Because each upgrade essentially brings a lot of kb of textures - each upgrade is the equivalent to a brand new vehicle, filesize-wise. Use this mod only if your machine can run it.

Q: How do I upgrade vehicles?
A: Simply select a vehicle and press the Upgrades button.

Q: Does it work with existing vehicles on existing saves?
A: Yes it does!

Q: Why no upgrades for boats?
A: For the same reason there are no upgrades to flying vehicles. Other than mounting a gun or increasing speed, there really isn’t anything new and original upgrades can bring to boats.

Q: Can I add it mid save?
A: Yes!

Q: CE compatible?
A: No idea. Ask CE.

Hey, uhm... I have the Vehicles Upgrades mod installed, and there's now an option for a personnel carry upgrade on the Cherokee, but when I select it, pawns can't do the work. Do you know what's going on there?

as much as i do want you to finish the upgrades mod (hence im here checking) lol respect, glad youre having fun with gravship. The beta test notes look very cool

They are planned. When I feel like making them. Right now I’m having fun doing the gravship mod.

Then it'd be a good idea to remove the hourglass icon from the 'Vehicles that are yet to receive upgrades' section as the hourglass implies that upgrades for those vehicles are planned to be added.

I apologize that you feel this mod is not finished - but in my eyes it’s working as intended and has quite a lot of exciting new content. Upgrades for Tier 2 of vehicles are a nice thing to have but absolutely not necessary for this mod to be ‚finished’. You can enjoy what there is, or not. You can enjoy our other mods, or not. I’m in a good and happy place doing what I love, working on whatever the heck I feel like, with the people on my team I care about.

@Oskar Potocki
Is it spoiled of us to expect a mod to be finished? You have multiple vehicles listed in the description that are yet to receive upgrades (Scytheman, Wagon, Roadrunner, Snatcher, Bulldog Tango and Wisent) but are planned to. It has been over a year since the last major update yet in that long amount of time nothing else from that list has been added as you'd rather keep creating new mods than finish this one. And since when were we expecting live service from this? We're just expecting this mod to be completed.

@A Hallucination
Then the issue stems from CE. Report it to them.

Patreon is donations and you can stop donating at any time. As per the description of our patreon, you donate for the work already done, as a thank you, and you don't donate expecting anything in the future.

To answer your previous question: NPCs were never able to use vehicles. I'm not the author of the vehicles framework. I'm not in control whether enemies use vehicles or not - this functionality needs to be added by Smash Phil to his Vehicles Framework. It is not a VE mod. VE has no control over it.

Yes, without CE the launcher barrel works.
LifeIsAbxtch 8 nov om 12:00
or you can use all that patreon money we give you to open and build a school that teaches people how to make mods :)

Sadly apparently we live in the time of spoiled gamerz who expect live service from every single thing. This mod is in a good place right now. We will eventually add upgrades for Tier 2, but that's it. I don't think this mod is unfinished - if you do, feel free to release your own, finished mod.
