--------

Black Mesa Character Expansion (BMCE) is an ambitious project to expand and enhance the variety of humanoid NPCs throughout Black Mesa; it is both a standalone mod and a modder's resource for anybody to use towards their own projects, Black Mesa-related or otherwise.

BMCE includes the following:
    ENHANCED SCIENTISTS AND GUARDS - Additional bodygroups and facemaps have been added to existing vanilla staff models to ensure that everybody gets a fresh new look.
    GEARBOX CHARACTER VARIATIONS - Recreations of the cleansuit scientist, casual scientist, and "Otis" security guard from the Half-Life expansions are featured here!
    REVAMPED FEMALE MODELS - Visual variety has been increased for female scientists to add beyond their vanilla options for hair and faces. Closed labcoats and casual variants have been added, and female security guards* have been added as well!
    NEW STAFF TYPES - The meat of this mod! Seven new kinds of personnel have been added to fill out the various gaps in the facility: office workers, maintenance workers, engineers, custodians, cafeteria workers, paramedics and firemen!
    NEW ENEMY VARIANTS - New zombie variations have been added for most of the new staff types.* HECU soldiers also have a much wider range of accessories to choose from, along with unique appearances for grenadiers, medics and shotgun soldiers. (Balaclavas are BACK!)
    OVERHAULED FACE CREATION - The "character manifest" file which controls the game's Face Creation system has various entries added or tweaked in order to make full use of the content in this mod.

*Not featured in-game with standalone BMCE, see the section below for mods that utilize them.

MODS THAT USE THIS PACK
BMCE works well on its own for spawning human NPCs with the features listed above, but it's recommended for use with these chapter mods for full functionality:

@BegunovKA
Literally just right click in the BMS section and create a new folder, title it "custom" and to "extract the files inside" right click the folder you downloaded with the BMCE files and extract it, when its done, drag or copy the BMCE VPK files into said custom folder, hope I helped a bit

So I have spent an Hour trying to set this up No my game doesn't already come with a custom folder In the BMS section There is currently no Useful Tutorials showing me how to Create this folder Properly and to "Extract the Files inside" .

Put the VPKs into your custom folder
King George, The Third. szept. 18., 16:45
quick question, so do i extract the files to a folder and put said folder in custom, or do i just put the vpk's in custom

@Der_Kaiser
It's the Black Mesa developers fault for making it require \custom\ folder installation. All the mods do this, I just had to figure this out to modify weapon damage because skill.cfg is useless for your own weapons but the amplification works for enemies in the AI Modifiers section. It was annoying not being able to change the dmg values like you can, conveniently, in Sven-Coop for example. Now I know how to do it for Blue Shift too, I can't wait.

♥♥♥♥ this mod bro, ive tried everything to get it to work and it wont. Dont just give a empty Dummy folder and expect us all to know how to manually do it, ive tried everything and it wont work. Just make it to where it replaces the models and stuff when you install the add on, waste of 2 hours trying to get this to work
