This is also irrelevant but in Mandarin the number 666 is actually seen as a lucky symbol.
Your race will need a custom config file (instead of using the humanoid one). I recommend looking at the Woggles https://steamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1296622347

How would I go about making the sprites and frame files if I want to have hairs for my species?
actually..... I should just sprite the body as "floating" and reposition the global offset in a species config file... would that work?
Download a template and read the readme file. Basically it auto renames your race
