You will need Half Life 2 Episode 2 mounted.
This will work only on all Episode 2 particle effects!

Can confirm : I’ve tried to play the HLE2EP2 mod «  Research and Development » ported to Gmod, and particles effect were missing despite having ep2 mounted. Despite the update, this addon stay necessary

This mod is now deprecated now that the HL episodes have been integrated into gmod by default. Facepunch seemed to have fixed the particle errors at least in my testing
