@akirus thats an FU feature of mechs, if its really heavy it will destroy terrain when falling, and damage terrain when walking

futher checking revealed it (probably) wasnt this mod causing the crash

That is a vanilla starbound feature Unless you are talking about the legs, and that is probably fixe d by now

i don't know if this glitch is from this mod or a different mech mod, but whenever i walk around in my mech on a planet, it destroys the terrain and keeps filling up my inventory. is that just me or are other people having some weird glitch with the mechs. (P.S. whatevere this glitch is, detaches the legs from the mech so it looks like its kind of floating above the legs, just to be more specific on this bug.)

To me it looks like air escaping from the instant "opening" of the mech pod

the robots shall be stunned for a few seconds if it lands on a planet but that isnt possible too right?

Sadly, it isn´t possible. I´ve tried, trust me.

is it possible to make it so the effect doesn't show when deploying somewhere other than a planet (Space stations, enemy/friendly ships, etc?) It looks really odd to see the effect when I'm not landing on anything.

Yeah I felt like the landing was extremely underwhelming originally, it kinda bugged me, is there any way to make this so there is a sound when you hit the ground and it makes the dust when you jump? I would love that, because the landings just sound like nothing.

Because the mech landing is normally a bit... underwhelming.

Unfortunately, there isn't any way to distinguish between deploying in space and over a planet.

Small and awesome mods, all of them make the game a bit more perfect

I like this mod a lot, makes my mech feel a lot cooler and more powerful!(♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, what planet did you deploy on?) But, I will say this. The effect should not happen in space encounters. Personally, that is my only dislike, other then that it's good!
