Does this mod clear the backgrounds from the ship layouts as well, or does it just cover them with background blocks? I'm looking to be able to place windows wherever I'd like on at least the Aegi ship.

Never mind, as it turns out Steam was just being weird. It unsubscribed me from some of the requirements for Better Ships - Elithian, so it was just a case of missing requirements.

After downloading this mod, every time I try to start an Avikan or Aegi character, I get an error message saying "ship world has errored"
I haven't tested with the other races, but I suspect they're the same. Any idea what's wrong?

Ngl It's hard to spot the Differences. For me at least... Probably 'cause I just woke Up.

@Cochon-2207: Yeah, the update adding support for Aeginian ships (and adding cutaways for ship windows in Avikan and Droden ships) is live now.

It's in the description. The ship backgrounds will only work when starting a new character, or when upgrading your ship to a new tier on existing characters. If you've already reached the tier 8 ship, the backgrounds won't be added automatically. You can always just add the background manually, there's nothing stopping you from just placing the tiles in the background yourself.

Doesn't seem to work for me, I tried a new character and it still didn't seem to work, I'll take another look in a bit. No error messages etc. just still can't seem to "post" anything in the background.

oh i was going to say that the xs mechs legs interfiers with the vanguard legs but this mod doesnt i just posted it on the wrong one

Is the XS Mechs mod causing any trouble with this mod? I think modular XS Mechs should be compatible with Elithian Races, though the Elithian parts might look a bit off on the changed mechs from XS Mechs.

will there be a fix for the xs mechs mod?

@OnFireZyGram: Yeah, it should work with 1.3. I haven't really tested it, but the mod only changes what blocks get generated in the ship, and 1.3 didn't make any changes to how those systems work.

Easier path is to go into \starbound\storage\player\ and delete that character's .shipworld file. Sorting by date makes it easier to be sure you have the right character. Backing up first is never a terrible idea, but not strictly necessary,

Why would I suggest such a crazy thing? Because after restarting Starbound and reloading your character, it will automatically generate a new ship(per your current modded ship design) and apply the upgrades sequentially before the character is even loaded.

In case you already have upgraded your ship to the max and don't want to start a new character for the ship background to take effect, try looking in the workshop for a mod which adds invisible blocks to the game
