If it does flicker, then you can do it like I wrote it here, and it won't flicker, but with the ALIOXIA's addon or using the "Muzzleflash Light Disable v2" addon. I guarantee that it works with the original one. For some reason it was removed from Workshop though, so you would have to get it from elsewhere.

There may be possibly also other solution to have it removed or at least reduced I think.

Ahoj/Hi/Privet,

for anyone who wants to make it work and experiences flashlight flickering when shooting, I advice trying out updated "Muzzleflash Light Disable v2" addon, initially uploaded by ALIOXIA. It can be found in the Workshop. If it still does flicker, then do this:

1. Install a map, such as "Gun Range", close the game, start the game and wait until all addons are loaded.

2. Select and start "Single player" game of the "Gun Range" (or possibly other map).

3. You can do about 3 test shots. It should work properly.

4. Return to Menu, and you can play online. It's going to work. It certainly does work for the original addon.

If you close the entire game, then you need to repeat this process.

no matter what you do, the flashlight will always flicker because it involves in shotgun muzzle flash

It works, but there is one weird thing. The flashlight will still flicker until I load the game on my local server. After I run local server it will work in 100%... anyone same thing?

@David, I love having muzzleflash disabled without the flashlight flicker. But the add-on that you linked doesn't touch the shotguns so they don't seem fit with all the other guns.

that code is a launch command

r_flashlightmuzzleflash: 1:, "cl", "launcher":

go to steam library and right click left4dead2 and select properties

locate launch parameters and add that code as follows:

+ r_flashlightmuzzleflash 0

Also in your autoexec you can add this other command:

muzzleflash_light 0

so you will definitely not see the flashlights of the shots again, but you will see the effect of fire at the exit of the cannon

Seems like some people are giving you some flak for this mod. I just want to let you know that it works perfectly for me! I did put the command in my gamemodes.txt too, which improves my experience more because the flashlight flicker tended to mess with my head too. I haven't seen any other visual errors from this, no artifacts or any glitchy effects. This mod even improved my performance when using automatic weapons or pistols. Thanks again!

i like it but the only thing it dose is when i shoot my gun i see my flash light.
