this mod is amazing i know it doesnt change the gameplay but it really gives that feeling of staffed base
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 24. apr. 2023 kl. 16:15
@wwmiller12 This one is for base XCom, but the one linked in the description is WotC.
wwmiller12 15. apr. 2023 kl. 18:11
Does this work for XCOM 2 or just for WoTC?
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 2. feb. 2021 kl. 22:32
@MrCloista Oh, wow, that looks great! Great job! :)

@Determined Man Sorry it took so long to get back to you, but Shoutmon-Grei summed it up. This bumps up both.

Standard crewmen (clerks) are bumped up to fill the Avenger, and as more of your characters come into the picture, they'll start taking the clerk's place. Or phrased better, the game will fill a slot with your characters first, and if it can't, a clerk will pop in!
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 31. jan. 2021 kl. 12:08
@MrCloista I mean, sure! It was just a quick config tweak I thought would help out. Seems like you using it to make something better would also help out, so have fun! ;)
MrCloista 30. jan. 2021 kl. 5:27
Hey @Mertius, I'm building a mod currently that uses the code from this (with different values) as part of a crew update/replacer, was originally going to be just for personal/friend use, but wondered if you'd mind me releasing it publicly, with appropriate credit ofcourse
T'erissk 27. jan. 2020 kl. 23:44
@Determined Man, You will see random crewmen walk about doing random stuff, as well as your own soldiers too.
Determined Man 27. jan. 2020 kl. 23:24
So does this make more of my soldiers walk around the Avenger, or just make some randos walk around?
lexo1000 13. maj 2018 kl. 14:17
thanks mate will test it now ;)
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 13. maj 2018 kl. 12:41
@lexo1000 Hi! This doesn't need any other mod to work, although if you have WotC, there is of this specifically for it. Just make sure you follow the installation instructions (basically, resetting your graphics until it takes the new settings).
lexo1000 12. maj 2018 kl. 10:34
Hi ! Do I need Second Wave installed or it's working also with base game ? thanks
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 16. apr. 2018 kl. 0:12
@Mjolnir1785 Sorry for the late reply, but I agree with @「死の火」 Yamino Takamaru. I'm sure I've seen that mod before, and if anyone has it, it'd be Reality Machina. He's a modding god with something like 150+ under his belt!
One sec.....
Boom! Here it is! https://steamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=780983998
Hope it is what you're looking for!
Ushi 4. apr. 2018 kl. 22:19
@Mjolnir1785: There actually already is a mod for that, made by RealityMachina, iIrc. x:
Mjolnir1785 3. apr. 2018 kl. 13:47
@Mertius I haven't had a chance to look into it yet but do you know of a way to make it so soldiers don't unequip everything when in the avenger. I use some mods that require invisible head and then when I see the soldiers bonding suddenly there's one standing there without a face. I saw your mod and thought maybe you might have some insight if not I'll try to look into it when I'm home.:steamhappy:
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2018 kl. 14:26
@3dahs I second the Stunt Doubles theory. ;P

In all truth, the infiltrating bit makes me think you're using Long War 2... right? Well, if memory serves, that's actually a LW2 issue. At least, I believe I've heard others talking about the issue. It also makes sense, IMO. Since this mod just bumps up limits, and not who is selected, I’d think the issue would be from the mod that allows for Infiltration failing to remove the characters from the available pool. That said, I could be horribly wrong. Let me know if you find that that's not the issue, or even if you're just not using LW2.
T'erissk 29. mar. 2018 kl. 13:12
@3dahs, Probably stunt doubles ;3
3dahs 29. mar. 2018 kl. 5:28
I've see some characters who are supposed to be out infiltrating, walking in the ship. Is that normal?
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 15. jan. 2018 kl. 12:09
@luis.mendez6 The mod is currently set to show 90 characters when able, and the number of Clerks (depending on Act) was bumped up to 20/25/30.

However, If you want even more non-soldier crew wandering the ship, you can always find the mod's XComGameData file and bump up the +NumClerks for each level a touch!
Sir Luis 14. jan. 2018 kl. 22:11
could you make a bit more crew walking n stuff
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 31. aug. 2017 kl. 9:57
@Hammerstein Glad to help! As an aside, I looked around, and there might be a few ways to rebuild the corrupted Solution file from the Default mod. Also, transferring in a normal SDK's solution has been suggested as an option as well.

Although, I'd stick with the empty mod because I'm a pessimist, and it'd probably still break something. :P
Hammerstein 31. aug. 2017 kl. 3:36
Thanks for the hints. I'm gonna try to repack everything into a new empty mod and go from there.
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 30. aug. 2017 kl. 15:31
@Hammerstein Oh, hey! 'Course I'll help! You HP inspired my HP! :D

The WotC SDK is entirely borked, and I spent all night trying to fix it. Default mods don't work, but you can get the scripts if you go into where the templates are located ( \XCOM 2 War of the Chosen SDK\Binaries\Win32\ModBuddy\Extensions\Application\ProjectTemplates\XCOM2Mod\1033 ) and manually extract them. Even doing this, Default won't work, so I've personally been remaking mine from scratch with an empty mod. It's slower, but avoids any of the strange errors that creep up from the SDK.

Lastly, the publishing error. The WotC SDK can't publish as an app through steam for some reason, and even setting it to administrator is not working. Instead, go into the actual modbuddy folder ( XCOM 2 War of the Chosen SDK\Binaries\Win32\ModBuddy ) and run the .exe application (as an administrator) directly, which opens a version that CAN publish to the Workshop.

That's....everything I can remember. Hope it helps!
Hammerstein 30. aug. 2017 kl. 15:16
Would you be so kind to tell me what issue you had with Modbuddy ? I'm currently trying to get it to run to update my own mini-mod (HiddenPotential 0.8) and can no longer get it to turn out working mods.

Uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted Firaxis folder in Appdata (local and romaning), deleted my old Modbuddy folder, checked file paths and so on.

Defaultmod templates no longer work, when using other templates I get path errors when building a solution, manually setting the proper paths turns out a mod which seems ok, but is not working in game. Tested this with a couple of really simple XcomClassData changes.

Research on Reddit and Nexus also came up with nothing so far. So I'm checking into what problems other modders ran and hope to track down a solution for mine.
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 30. aug. 2017 kl. 14:30
@Dragon32 Yep. Basically. I checked all the code, and everything is the same. Ran tests with and without, and it's fully functioning. The only issue was the warning, so I just set up a second mod, both to remove it, and in case the values they're changing ever diverge between versions.

The hard part was getting modbuddy to work, which was most of my night. :P

So yeah, this is just to make XCOM stop freaking out when using the mod.
Dragon32 30. aug. 2017 kl. 12:48
@Mertius:
Looking at the WoTC Default*.ini files they've not changed the values or the [Groups] from vanilla.

Is the only difference in the WoTC version just in that mod's .XComMod file then? I.e. stopping the warning icon.
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 30. aug. 2017 kl. 10:02
Sorry for the delay. You'd think such a simple mod would be easy, but the new ModBuddy decided it doesn't like updating. :P

Alright, for those WotC DLC users, I've added a new version of Full Crew Avenger. They're practically the same, but now Steam recognizes it works on the DLC.

Make sure you follow the installation instructions and re-initialize your Settings to get it to work. It can take a few tries, but once it's on, even with the much larger crew-slot count, you should be able to notice the difference.
Dick Justice 30. aug. 2017 kl. 4:19
@mertius

In the mod's ui file, it has:

[XComGame.UIOptionsPCScreen]
-MaxVisibleCrewConfig[0]=3
-MaxVisibleCrewConfig[1]=5
-MaxVisibleCrewConfig[2]=8
-MaxVisibleCrewConfig[3]=12
-MaxVisibleCrewConfig[4]=30

+MaxVisibleCrewConfig[0]=60
+MaxVisibleCrewConfig[1]=60
+MaxVisibleCrewConfig[2]=60
+MaxVisibleCrewConfig[3]=60
+MaxVisibleCrewConfig[4]=60

In the ui file found in the documents folder, there's only the first section. Is that intended behaviour?
Dick Justice 30. aug. 2017 kl. 4:13
Yeah, same issue here. Using this mod with WOTC, and the avenger is mostly empty.

Mertius  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2017 kl. 16:44
@mazisky Hmm. That's strange. During my lunch break, I checked all the code, and it seems like it would be fine. Even ran the game quickly with a full WotC Avenger, and it worked without even updating the mod. I'll look into when I'm off. TY for letting me know.
Mazisky 29. aug. 2017 kl. 16:41
@Dog, i did already. I modified the inis in mydocuments\mygames\xcom2warofthechosen\Xcomgame\config
Throwing Worms at Walls 29. aug. 2017 kl. 16:25
Theres a seperate folder for WotC with its own ui file, you'll have to edit that one for the changes to affect WotC
Mazisky 29. aug. 2017 kl. 13:27
Hi @Mertius.

There is a problem with WOTC.

I discovered this trick even before your mod (i posted on reddit at the time) so i manually edit the .ini all the time but i have to say that WOTC changed something.

Now it seems like both the "crew" and "clerks" can't go over a certain amount, as a result the avenger feel empty.

Pre WOTC i used 40\50 values for both cases, and the geoscape room was entirely full (like 25 poeple), also all soldiers were visible.

Now, no matter what value i use, there is always the same "average" activity on the ship, and this is sad.

May i ask you if you can check so we can share our results?
Nasarog 29. aug. 2017 kl. 12:32
Woohoo, re-sunscribed. This mod rocks and brought life back after that particular patch. Good job, and thank you!!!
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2017 kl. 12:27
@Nasarog As soon as I get off from work, I'll get right on it. That said, from a preliminary check of the code, it doesn't look like anything will actually change for this mod.
Nasarog 29. aug. 2017 kl. 12:21
Willl this be updated for War of the Chosen?
macelharen 29. aug. 2017 kl. 9:58
i wonder how the hell "explosions destroy corpses" got down to 11kbytes?
macelharen 29. aug. 2017 kl. 9:52
probably mean "the complex mods" ....i was curious so loaded up alternative mod launcher which shows size of files in kbytes and LOL my mod is larger than yours.
N2Marine 29. aug. 2017 kl. 9:23
Thanks for the heads up
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 29. aug. 2017 kl. 9:19
@N2Marine, @InvincibleMan38 Just finished the download last night, I'll try and get on it tonight. I work late all this week, though, so some of the larger mods will take more time to update
LockeEdwards 29. aug. 2017 kl. 6:44
Yes a WOTC update would be nice.
N2Marine 29. aug. 2017 kl. 6:08
Could we get an update?
macelharen 9. aug. 2017 kl. 12:56
let's hope this helps populate my harem with more nekkidness *evil chuckle*
feo. 17. juli 2017 kl. 13:37
Anyone knows how to add "Allies Unknown" to wandering crew?
only way to find them on Avenger is to assign to a room (like to training)
In any case cheers for the great mod :)
Ushi 25. maj 2017 kl. 15:51
@Mertius: You're welcome, I guess. Trying to help when I can, even if that's mostly only telling people that kind of stuff. :IF_VII:
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2017 kl. 15:43
@「死の火」 Yamino Takamaru Thank you, by the way! XD
Mertius  [ophavsmand] 25. maj 2017 kl. 15:42
@crizzl The problem is that the engine just doesn't update itself with the mod's graphics settings unless a change takes place, namely a change in the presets, or making the engine check for preferred/default settings. That's why we change it once to register the Mod's settings, then again to your preffered settings.

@frizzeldian12 Personal experience tells me you shouldn’t have to. Once you’ve used the mod and changed your graphics settings, it should keep them, even across multiple campaigns. If you ever notice the Avenger getting sparse, however, all it takes is a quick setting change to get everyone back on board!
Dęąth Viper 21. maj 2017 kl. 21:54
do I have to restart after every fresh compaign to get the desired effect?
Ushi 21. maj 2017 kl. 9:48
@crizzl: You have to change the preset, even if you're already using one. And then do what Mertius said further below...I'll quote it: "Just drop it to one of the presets (like minimum, or low, or default), open up a campaign, exit and restart the game, set everything to your preferred quality, and go. Should work from there. Let me know if you have any other issues."
