Ok, here's the way to do it when you're subscribed:
- extract theatrumorbisterrarum_darkborder.zip in your mod folder to a folder of your choice
- Replace the border5.dds file in the zip file with the one you want from the folder you just extracted to. Use drag&drop for that while haviing the zip file open in 7zip or winrar.
- Close the zip file, this saves your changes and your desired border should now be in game.

Yes, extract the zip to "Documents\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\mod". Pretty sure that it works properly with winrar.

The manual download has not been updated (still for version 1.19). I am having a hard time on Mac trying to change the ZIP file.

@Cameron: The easiest way to do this is the following:
- extract theatrumorbisterrarum_darkborders.zip to a location of your choice using 7zip
- open up theatrumorbisterrarum_darkborders.zip with 7zip
- pick one of the border files you extracted and replace the one in the opened zip file by drag and drop

Alternatively, you could use the manual download, it has a folder structure instead of a zip file, which makes switching between the optional files a bit less tedious.

I am currently trying to replace the "border5" file with the one from the simple thick folder but everytime i try to move it, it says "file not found or no read permission" Would you be able to offer any advice on how to fix this if you dont mind?

A few very minor ones,chinese portraits for advisors,50 loading screens mod,better ui font mod,a few flag replacements and the thai/manchu unit recolor mod,thats basicly it..none of those should conflict with TOT and DB

i never use manual downloads actually,this is my first one because i don't like the default option and wanted to change it,i can always try it though maybe it's an load order issue

Judging from your screenshot, you also seem to use the manual download for TOT. You could try replacing the border5 files (border5.dds & border5data.dds) in TOT with the stripey ones from the addon (make sure to make a backup of the original files)

I am using the manual download now and it's having the exact same effect as the workshop one

Hm, maybe you should use the manual download. Switching between borders styles is much easier with the Manual DL, since there is no zip file.

But the mod is active,it's in my mod launcher and i have no other mod that could be affecting borders that is active

In this picture the Dark Borders Add-On is not active. Those are the standard TOT country borders.

Well,i figured out what happened,it works perfectly fine actually,but for some reason that "glow" on the borders prevents it from showing properly/obscuring it,is there a way to disable that so that it looks like it does in your screenshots? ^^

Well i went to play the game today,and i did everything i should,unzipped the file,changed the border5.dds file with the stripey thin one,then repacked the file
But it doesn't work,at least i'm not seeing the stripey thin borders or am i just being an idiot and should i do it differently?

Do you happen to know if it's currently possible to create a unique border for HRE provinces that follows along the outermost contours of the territory?
