Tomb's Player Body Overhaul - Compatibility

that's what i figured :') i probably should just hope for a higher res version of the Palette mod since it would look out of place with the quality of this model and texture compared to vanilla anyways. thanks for looking into it!

@Elma - Should be fine!

@Jaxx - pshoooo - The piercings I would assume are 3d models so those could get an override mesh, but the palette textures are all authored to line up with vanilla facial textures/model/uv. While they _might_ work with my body, the they might also be super janky. And there's no easy way to fix those beyond completely reworking them.

This mod still working on current B42 version :stardrop:
Jaxx - pshoooo 21. nov. kl. 13:37
is there a world where PALSJ's Palette/Piercings mods get compatibility? i don't know the technical details but i know it's probably more work for all the faces to have appropriate makeup spots, but it would be wonderful if it could be
Brother Foot 14. nov. kl. 16:41
Your the best Tomb! Thank you for all your wonderful mods.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 13. nov. kl. 20:14
I had an hour to kill and it seemed to be quite a popular request, so compatibility for Reaper's Hair + Beards has been added!
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 28. okt. kl. 6:02
@Jaxx - pshoooo - Clothes box is on the list yeah I just haven't had time to get in to any compatibility work lately.
Jaxx - pshoooo 27. okt. kl. 20:44
chances of getting Authentic Peaches new rendition of Clothes Box to have some compatibility love? :^3
trick 20. okt. kl. 12:21
@Tomb I get it now! Thanks for the explanation.

It would be really cool if there was an adaptation, but if it's a lot of work, what's already there is really enough :) Thanks for your mods.

(sorry if something sounds a bit strange, using translator to type)

No worries, I decided to stick to vanilla+ for my new B42 setup so I'm just now noticing it. Thank you.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 17. okt. kl. 14:47
@trick - Yeah it should work from what i've heard but the amputation models it uses are cuts of the vanilla mesh so they won't match up. It would require replacing the meshes for ones that are cut from my body instead, which is totally possible but its kind of a big job.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 17. okt. kl. 14:40
@Alkanshel - Its just the way that it is unfortunately. Zomboid has really bad UV's on the vanilla model around the neck. A lot of existing clothing mods compensate for these bad UV's by making the texture do crazy zigzags to counteract the effect and create 'straight' lines on the model, so I opted to try and keep my UV's as close as possible to vanilla so that existing modded content looks the way it's supposed to. But it does mean that vanilla clothes look kinda jank around the neck, but you'll find its the same on the vanilla model too.
Alkanshel 17. okt. kl. 13:49
Hello, I discovered this issue recently. I have the Vanilla+ patch enabled and have jagged lines for a lot of dress straps. Any idea what could be causing it? https://i.imgur.com/u4iUSrA.png

By the way, thanks for your mods

Is there any chance The Only Cure [B42] could work with Tomb's body reshaping? :)
I don't know exactly how it works, just wondering if it's possible.

To be honest, they're working together, but with all the clothes clipping on the sides that have prosthetics.
JesusChristIsLord 8. okt. kl. 17:35
Yeah np
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. kl. 16:25
JesusChristIsLord - Interesting. So there's some mechanism that i guess the game is doing where if you wear pants, the armor model physically expands to compensate for them being bigger than the naked character. Equip and unequip and you'll see it happen. But this behavior is only present in the ingame view, the models in the character portrait info menu do not behave the same way. I also see the clipping in the info panel. I'd say this is probably a bug, yeah. The vanilla pants are even worse than my compat meshes as they are fatter than my models.

Even tho i can't do anything about it, thanks for bringing this to my attention, i had no idea this kind of system even existed. Gives me some ideas for my own stuff.
JesusChristIsLord 8. okt. kl. 15:51
I need help, I have this mod activated along with the boots expanded, and another mod called "Vanilla Gear Expanded" now when putting on the police shin guards and thigh guards they appear to be clipping through the pants "regardless of pants" ONLY through character info
Image reference: https://imgur.com/a/u6o44nd

But in game, there is no clipping? Im really confused is it bc of b42 being unstable or some conflict or an error?

At The Night Show 3. okt. kl. 22:39
yeah it was load order, it was janked. I used auto sorter and it fixed that issues. Thanks
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 3. okt. kl. 17:32
@At The Night Show - Boots expanded hasn't been updated in a while so the boots shouldn't be clipping, confirmed this on my end. Could be a load order issue or you may have just needed to restart after enabling the patch?
At The Night Show 3. okt. kl. 16:11
is the boot mod currently outdated? even with the 42.12 Body Location compatibility patch? boots are clipping thru the females foot w/ and w/o socks
Alkanshel 27. sep. kl. 19:07
The problem was fixed by enabling the mod. I didn't know what it was so that's on me. Thank you!
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 27. sep. kl. 8:12
@Alkanshel - Yeah, Vanilla+ is the catch all file for all compatibility meshes. The boots expanded one is an optional extra for boots expanded users, but it's split into its own mod because iirc it would cause errors if run without boots expanded. Its been a while since i made it so i can't remember exactly, but i know i didn't want the whole mod to be dependant on boots exp, so i split it.

Enable vanilla+ and the skirt issue should go away. I'll make a note of this in the main mod description in case anyone else is thrown off by the multiple mods.
Alkanshel 26. sep. kl. 19:39
Do I need to enable vanilla+?

Sorry for the late reply. Yes the miniskirt clips around the butt area.

@Belathos - Que bom saber disso! Aproveite o mod :)
Belathos 21. sep. kl. 11:52
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 6. sep. kl. 14:59
@Alkanshel- If you have a screenshot of this pls shoot it into the bugs thread with a list of the mods you run as 99% of the vanilla skirts should only use the body mesh with the built in skirt + a skintight texture. Is it the miniskirt?
Alkanshel 6. sep. kl. 10:40
I noticed that the vanilla skirt in the character creator clips through the skin while standing normally.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 1. sep. kl. 6:57
@Jowenbra - Yeah that's how most shirts in zomboid work by default
Jowenbra 23. aug. kl. 14:39
Are shirts supposed to cling to the player body like another layer of skin? It looks they've been vacuum sealed against the body.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 17. aug. kl. 7:55
@Nelson - If you mean without boots expanded, then yea the vanilla "shoes" end up looking like socks on my body because they're just spray on textures. The feet were designed normal size to pair with boots expanded or other mods that add 3d shoes and i'd highly recommend grabbing one regardless of whether you use my body mod or not because vanilla shoes are garbage (sorry TIS).
Nəlson 6. aug. kl. 23:47
shoes looks like socks, i dont recommend
OppZl 4. aug. kl. 6:04
Thanks!
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. kl. 8:45
@Reanimator + @Zilla - Pants being changed to the skintight appearance is likely coming from another mod as this mod isn't set up to change the default style, only replace models with non-clipping ones. With this mod loaded alone almost all the pants will default to the wide, untucked 3D pants. If you have them being replaced with the painted on skin tight look its most likely Boots Expanded, if it's the slim tucked 3D pants it'll likely be Spongie's Open Jackets.

Reanimator 2. aug. kl. 4:52
is it normal that all pants and jeans become extremely skinny versions for males

v1.1.5

- Removed masking from all compatibility meshes affecting Boots Expanded shoes in B42 to prevent issues with Jackets and other items improperly masking half the long shoe styles. This is a half measure and may introduce clipping in some edge cases, but when paired with the compatibility patch there should be minimal trouser clipping anyway.
AurorA 25. juli kl. 7:21
@ jaquerossetto i have to say yeah, more shoes is really good mod about shoes pack ive ever seen. but it's unfair to Tomb. work to each shoe needs model adjustments sounds it would take a lot time. Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about model work. the onlything i can do is some simple translation work. hope some day Tomb will have the time or he can find someone to help t add compatibility to More Shoes.:sleepyjill: and ever since I found your mod, it's been the best body adjustment mod I've ever seen Tomb, good job and hope you will keep the passion:steamthumbsup:

Update v1.1.4

- Added initial support for Lillies enhanced militaria - replaced bloused pants with regular tucked pants from this mod. Not strictly the same style of tucked pants but does at least prevent the clipping issues for now.
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 24. juli kl. 11:08
@MrButterHoles - Oh does that one have issues? I can take a look, would probably be as easy as just duplicating the regular tucked pants mesh i made and renaming it to catch lillie's on load
MrButterHoles 23. juli kl. 19:56
Any chance for lillies enhanced militaria especially the tucked pants?
jaquerossetto 23. juli kl. 11:06
Ouch that seems like a huuuge job, besides the replacer there is a lot of new additions as well. I thought it would be easier than that, but its fine! Thank you anyway :)
Tomb  [ophavsmand] 23. juli kl. 10:36
@jaquerossetto - As noted by nalmac on their recent post on that mod, they just realised the licencing on the original mod is no modify/ no share etc, making a compat patch unlikely. It's not 100% out of the question, but all the shoes would need to be made from scratch kinda like how i did with boots expanded compat. Possible? Yes. Labor intensive? Very.

If you want to commission it privately tho, the official PZ discord would be the best place to ask.
jaquerossetto 23. juli kl. 10:17
Heyyy, I dunno if you would be interested, but I recently got this mod on my game
https://steamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3528649608
And of all the shoe replacers I have tried I think its the best one, but there is a bit of clipping on the legs with some boots and the angle on all shoes is a bit off like its tiptoeing. Would a patch be possible? If it's not allowed or you are not interested could you please point me in the right direction to try to get this fixed on my own game?
