@Delta I was curious and investigated it... found the issue, after the first produce it made the duration absurdly long, converting to hours instead of minutes lol, fixed now!

@Delta Each snail produces stuff at different rates and gives different amounts each, the snail you got was probably a slow producer - you can check the Compendium for information on their speeds.

It specifically checks for the planet type, if that planet type is being used, the ores should be spawning there too, scorched areas doesn't qualify its specifically the planets type.

Ah, yeah, Garden to Reclaimed does add scorched areas to Lush planets. Would it be possible to do a threat level check as well? That'd pretty reliably keep 'em in the intended places if used alongside biome.

Violium snails only spawn on lava and scorched planets, so it was probably a mod confusing it.

Is it supposed to be possible to find a Violium Snail on a T1 planet? Because I just had that happen. For all I know it could be Garden to Reclaimed Planets confusing the spawner, but I was in a pretty unambiguously Lush-biome area at the time.

All snails are stackable, the reason the baby ones aren't is because their data is different due to being a different generation - only same gen snails can breed. You can stack babies of the same generation together, but in future updates breeding and stat system will be changed so I may remove the stacking entirely.

The production is kind of broken in the current version depending on your OS, they're supposed to continuously produce stuff though, one every couple of minutes to hours.
The new update fixes this, will be out soon after my university eases up!

actually it was one of the baby snails that was endlessly producing Pixels
yeah when one of the snails breeded a new normal snail I think it glitched and now it endlessly produces pixel's and already got 200,000 pixel's the second I placed back in a box!

I think I found an actual bug with the normal snail's o.o
when I put one or two of them in the big snail house once they started to produce pixels but they didn't stop! even collecting the pixels didn't stop and I got over 600,000 pixels immediately!

that normal snail was the third snail I ever got from not knowing about Snail breeding! (and also very early into my SB run!)

There is functionality for that, but the commissioner specifically asked not to do that (even though some sprites were already made). I was going to make a config in quickbar while in admin to enable it, along with the option to pick them up by interacting with them interacting with them
instead of using the net.

Was gonna add a spawn snail cheat option too but some people started crying that I was making it anticheat and hating on admin users when that wasn't the case. Spawning the snail manually didn't work since everything is handled in the spawn code, vanilla does it too lol. There were a few people trying to start a hate brigade against me for it, so I may just not add this feature ahahahah

Snails spawn from the sky since the code to find the floor is kinda broken. I found it funny so I left it in lol, it will be fixed with the new update though for that finished product feel.

Would it be possible to have the different snails look different in-world? It'd be easier to tell them apart from vanilla snails that way. I understand if not, though; it'd be a lot of spritework.

Also, I'm curious, why do the snails fall from the sky instead of spawning normally? It's highly amusing, if a little odd.

Returning to leave a note for everyone, the issue with the snails is the type of OS you are using. Turns out the time function I used returns different things for each OS, meaning it completely failed to function for some people, this, along with a complete Snail Compendium overhaul will be coming in an update very soon.

Geneforged is still in development, this past year was super rough on me so mod dev was hard (given I needed money so I focused on working and uni). It and the ratchet and clank mod are the priorities atm as well as a UI update and bugfixes for this mod.

Yes the mod works in multiplayer, at least in my testing, though I’m not sure if the host or client time is prioritised and whether that affects it or not.

It runs on real time, not in-game time. There appears to be a bug that affects some systems though, due to how it fetches real time, a fix is coming with the next update.

So I put several types of snails in my 6-slot house, and they've been there for easily over an in-game week. Not even the clay snail has produced a single thing. Is the mod bugged?

Hello, I have had boxes full of snails for several days and in 3 real days they still haven't produced anything. I live below the surface. Could that be the problem? Is there a condition for them to produce materials?

You cannot cheat by spawning them, it will not work. I did not implement functionality to support that as it is cheating and not representative of the snail or mod itself.
