For some reason at the time of writing this, the mod itself does not allow pawns that are within a structure (a bed, chair, etc) to receive the proximity heat from campfires. VTE Proxy Heat patch for this mod fixes the issue.
it just can: "allow temperature sources to warm you up or cool you down regardless of if they’re in an enclosed room or not. In the real world, you don’t need to have an enclosed space in order to cozy up around a campfire and prevent hypothermia. In most cases it's a bit unnecessarily tedious and illogical needing to build walls, a roof, maybe a door around your heater/cooler just to even slightly feel the effects."
