Figured it out
I was using Calamity chests (the security Lag chests) and they are not compatible.
Though I tested it with an vanilla chest as well, but apparently I didn't

Oh and also, when I hosted the newly generated world in multiplayer for the first time, it crashed the game in a weird way.
I was stuck in the spawn not even on the ground and couldn't move or select items etc. I also couldn't open my inventory. But the Guide standing next to me got damaged, which I saw. The clouds in the background were also still moving

Hi, I just added this mod to my Calamity world, but it doesn't work at all.
I tried it in a new world with the same mods enabled and there it worked fine.
Does it only work for worlds, that are generated with the mod already enabled?

@EMERL are you running the spirit classic mod?

I encountered a problem when trying to create a new world with this mod enabled, it wasn't a problem a few days ago, but now I have to disable this mod to create a world cause something goes wrong during world generation with this mod enabled

@jake Thanks for checking it. If it does appear that is the case I can report that to Spirit and see if they can fix it as well if its on their end!

@Dravin just tested and was able to replicate this issue. its possible the briar chest is not marked as a container in the tileID sets which would cause the chest to be skipped. if thats the case, it will need to be fixed on spirits end. ill do some more testing tho and see if i can do anything

Found an odd bug. In spirit classic there is a place called the briar. Briar chests(That you can get from briar zone) seem not to conform to your mod. Tested with iron ingots inside the briar chest, could not craft anything iron even with anvil right next to me. Switched it out for a regular chest and it worked.

@Etrice im not sure what would be causing this, can you replicate it with only this mod enabled? and is this single player or multiplayer?

This mod appears to be bugging out on me, its reaching waaay to far to pull items from storage chests. I turned the range down in the config and it makes no difference. Only other mod im using is calamity no idea if that is causing an issue, haven't really done anything to the game. Restarting on temporarily fixes it and then it may randomly start reaching to far again mid game. This isn't intended is it?

I would love for this to work with magic storage. I absolutely hate the crafting interface and just want to dump into the magic storage then craft from it like normal instead of going back into crafting interface.

I'm also having trouble with the double content bug. Singleplayer as well

@Suki does this happen if this is the only mod enabled?

When use this mod with storage crafting in multiplayer, placing a weapon in a chest will change to have no prefix

would absolutely love to see this mod working with magic storage, i hate how you can't connect multiple storage hearts to one crafting interface, so this would solve all my problems

In singleplayer. If you don't have that issue I'll have to check if this is maybe some other mods fault/interaction with another mod, doh this is the only one I have enabled that should affect inventories in that way...

Hey, I noticed an issue where when I am opening a chest my crafting menu works with double the content. So it's as if it registers all items from the open chest inventory AND registers all items from being near this chest...

@Tormaline magic storage pretty much supersedes this mod in every way. the mods arent incompatible, the items in the magic storage just wont appear for crafting outside of magic storage's crafting interface.

I assume this mod doesn't work with the Magic Storage mod does it?

@tenabrae if its an issue with a specific chest, then the mod creator didnt properly mark it as a container. this mod searches all chests that are marked as containers

figured it out... either the mod or terraria doesn't know rusty chests exist for this purpose.

@jake Yup i've made sure im on the station (like literally on or in it) and danced around :D I've also tried playing with the distance setting in the mod settings, and I have my base setup to have the crafting stations centralised. I can literally have the ingredients in a chest next to me and not have it pop up as craftable.

here you can see its craftable from my inventory ... but if i put the bars back in the bar chest which should be ? within range (im currently set to 30 but maybe that's a radius not a diameter ?), no longer shows up even though the crystals are in a chest next to me (if both are in the chest next to me it works fine.

@tenabrae make sure you're standing near the required crafting stations. there is also a limited range on the crafting. its about the same as quick stack

I find a fair bit of the time I don't get results from this mod, often with the mithril anvil, and often with hardmode items from calamity. Often I have to go find the objects in a chest and put them in my inventory like a peasant. Too many chests/items maybe ?

@Jake well I had a world started ages ago and just got back to Terraria days ago and I want to access the crafting with my storages since it's annoying asf before I head for Magic Storage

I'm not sure if this is too big an ask, but I would really appreciate if you could have this work with magic storage, it would fix some of the big problems I have with that mod.

Seconded on the multiplayer compatibility, that's unfortunately a deal-breaker. Good mod, though. Basically exactly what Terraria needs for storage to be a little less tedious while not being overpowered.

watching for future multiplayer compatibility. Would love the range customization too. Awesome mod!

@Dobbly Wobbly currently no. the range should be around the same as the quick stack function. however i could easily make it customizable in a future update
