Yes I also forgot to set the server executable to Lua, it popped an error in the prompt which gave away that something was wrong though.
The config file also is working, was able to set to 0 vs 2 and die and see the correct change in skills:)
You can try typing `reloadlua` command in the console after loading. You should see the messages. If the mod is loaded, you should find these messages:
Death Skills Keeper [Fixed] 1.0.3
DeathSkillsKeeper enabled
DeathSkillsKeeper finished hooking
- init.lua (Took 0.00510ms)
And if it's loaded it should work.
Still, I myself haven't tested it after 1.0 yet. Will do someday.
there's no chance we missed a step is there? Just sub to the mod and put it in the mod load order?
I'll probably test it just to make sure.
I updated it with a little refactoring and modernized code just in case, but don't think that affected it functionally.
Also, some of the recent patches changed the death punishment so that you only lose 75% of skills gained above the maximum starting value, which is less severe than when the mod was created.
