Okay. Tested it with a friend. It looks backwards when you look at your own messages in third person. You should include that fact in the description so people don't think it's broken.

Even with no other addons enabled, it still always faces backwards.

why is the bubble behind the player

can you put it anywhere you want or does it stay above your head?

The Text Bubble is facing the wrong way, you can only read the text from behind the player.

Also another thing. The chat bubbles are too small at a bit of distance.

And my personal opinion is that the chat bubbles would look much better if the default height of them was a bit higher and if you entered more than a certain amount of text the height becomes higher and the rest of the words come on a new line.

@Voroz I have the same problem. I think it has something to do with the way that I render them in 2D then "project" them into 3D space, however I'm not a rendering genius and I put this together bit by bit by looking at the wiki. It is on my todo list though :)

Yes, it works now :). Only problem i can see is that the chat bubbles 2 rounded sides have a 1 pixel border outline where there should be nothing.

Hello. I use evolve admin mod and this addon doesn't work on my server. I have the config menu but no chat bubbles.

@cloaked stabby man perhaps it is because they have an addon that is conflicting with ChatBubbles. Try disabling all the other addons and then re-enabling them until you find out which one is stopping ChatBubbles from working properly. Anyhow, without any information to help me diagnose the problem, I can't help you more than that.

Added your mod for my server, but...it doesn't look to work.
I use ULX as an admin mod. Maybe you have some chat commands to forcefully enable this mod?

@~|[HC]|~ Ban[G]bust I just updated the addon. I looked at the source code for evolve and the way it handles chat hooks is stupid and irresponsible. I have had to make my code much more intrusive (by intrusive, I mean it has to modify the global hook.Call function which is something that I wanted to avoid, but since the developers of these admin addons don't care about the effects of their sloppy coding, it's the only thing I can do) to literally pull control of the hook out of their addon and into mine (and once I have processed the hook, onto their addons). (And yes, I can say that since I'm going to take the challenge of making my own administration addon). Please tell me how it goes :)

@Battalus being "standalone" basically means that it does not require any other addons to work. Other ones that I have found have required another adddon installed for them to work, for example one of them was an extension for a server administration tool.

@~|[HC]|~ Ban[G]bust sorry for not responding, I have been in Berlin for the past 4 days. Wonderful city. Anyhow, this might be because you have a server administration tool installed on the server and it is blocking the hook that I use to activate the addon. Try without the server administration tool. I'm going to look into a way of overriding the administration tool temporarily. If you are using a server administration tool, would you mind telling me which one so I know which ones are causing this issue.

I've installed it to my server but when in chat nothing comes up, any ideas? Thanks and this is a awesome idea btw.

Just tested in Multiplayer. Does not work. I am the only one with it installed, because you said "standalone." Let me know if I did anything wrong or if you can make it work clientside.

This has more than enough potential. (haven't tried in mp but will eventually) Looks very nice, but could you add the little arrow pointing to the players head on the most recent message (if you know what I mean. the little curved one under a bubble) and make the text able to be in rows for long messages. I've already thumbed up and favorited, and I hope to see more from this addon. Keep it up and good luck!
