Hi splitsie, I have a question. I'm currently creating a new SE scenario, which I'd like to make available to our community on a dedicated server once it's finished. I'd like to include your Omicron planet in this scenario, because they turned out pretty cool. There is ore underground but its impossible to find. This is my first PC playthrough and Im not trying to rush space the closest ore node was 13km away from my base.

I know ore has been reduced on this planet but is there any reason why I can't find any thing? I went into creative with a temporary mod to increase large ore detector range to 1.25km and I could only find ice underground. I moved my ore detector around and could only find that in an area of about 10km. Do I need to add the procedural ore generation mod to get underground ore to spawn?

sadly, Boulders on Omicron are completely broken, you phase through, they Vanish a.s.o.... is it possible to fix this?
Or would you have to remake this planet (i really don't know how to do that)

is it possible to find underground ore deposits on this planet at all ? i have found iron, silicon, nickel and cobalt on the surface, but nothing else so far.

Planets do not spawn automatically in your game, this must be done manually using the creative mode menu.

You can ignore those errors, they're present with nearly every planet mod despite planets like this one being copies of Keen's own vanilla planets

i am having an issue where this mod is throwing errors telling me there is a texture missing. "Alien Sky.dds" or something like this. is this a file i need to copy over from some other location?

@MacDuder217 well if you want to play the Survival Imposible style you may want to download the acctual "cenario" and not just the planet. If you want to Spawn the Omicon. Start an new world in Solar systhem "IN CREATIVE MODE!!" then push Shift + F10 scrol down to omicron slide the planes size to 120 and choose where to spawn the planet.

@MacDuder217 Planets don't spawn in the universe, you have to use the Shift-F10 interface to add modded planets.

I feel silly, but i can't seem to have omicron as an option. Does anyone know how I can make it an option?

I've loaded up all of the mods onto a save file and I've respawned a couple times just in case it's a loading issue but the planet omicron isn't an option. I could always stick with "alien planet" but I'm kinda wanting a similar start that splitsie had.

Hi Kattivo, only the survival impossible save or all previous saves? It happened to me before that when steam servers are under heavy load it doesnt "log in" correctly to the Space Engineers profile asociated. Insteads it creates a new "default profile" with no saves. As the steam sale started today, it could be that.

Under C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves there are folders for each profile.
Check there if you see the save files.

I know this isnt related. i wanted to do a run at omicron but i dont want o2 generators. is there a mod that disables them? i have hydrogen farms already just seems to tempting to build a generator? No reactors would be great too.

Well I've been enjoying this for a few days. Do you have a list of which ores it has? I'm assuming no silver?

120km would be the ideal I think as that's the size the vanilla alien planet is (which is where the height map is from)

what size should this be spawned in?

To add a planet to a save you have to spawn in, enable creative mode tools (alt+f10) spawn the planet in with the menu accessed through shift+f10 and then when you respawn you might be able to spawn there

So how can I get this into Perdiso System Workshop item? I can't pick mods before I start it to add Omicron, and if I save at the planet spawn selection, add the Omicron mod, it does not appear in the list of spawn locations?

The vanilla bit is the heightmap and graphics, the ore layout is all custom

@Splitsie I've noticed something strange... In your play through (and mine) you are able to find Nickel veins on the planet, and I've been able to find Nickel and Silicon. But you list this planet as a Vanilla planet, and we are both using the procedurally generated ore mode...
TLDR im not sure if you noticed but how would base ore veins like iron and nickel be on this planet? They are listed as not being on Alien planets in that mod, and if i go to another alien planet they arent there... just on Omicron. are they already built into the planet when you made it? or would we have to chalk this up to an error with the other mod? just curious, still love your play through!

Yup, adding that section alone is sufficient to introduce weather.

I'll try that in a Survival Impossible game now, hope that'll be a reason to get off this rock.

@Splitsie It's a new section in the planet definition's XML, in PlanetGeneratorDefinitions.sbc. You can find it by searching for:

It has to be fixed on my end as it needs to be added to the planet. I haven't had time to look into what needs to be done as yet

I activated weather system in the scenario including Omicron, but still no weather after a few days ingame. Any one knows how to fix that?

@Splitsie The mod produces 3 non-critical errors on save load (ALT+F11) due to - it seems - the AlienSky assets not being distributed along with the mod.

Or maybe something changed in the planet definitions and skies in particular, since the Procedural Ores mod is having same errors.

I was looking at the files for Omnicron....in the Ore values did you replace all the iron_01 and Iron_02 for other ores? Is that why iron deposit on planet cant be found?

@UlfMitHand His Survival Less Likely has the same stuff (less iron, refinery limitations and such) for all the planets...so except for the gravity he already did it.

Does the "decreased resources" mean you've applied the Procedurally Generated Ore mod or is it some other thing? I started a game on this planet, but I forgot to add the procedural ores mod at the world generation, and now I wonder if I should start a new world with it or if it's fine.

How hard would it be to have the same attributes (same g and oxygen ) but have it look like the earth planet?

I was only wondering for others, but as the spawn tags have to be in the planet generator SBC it can be messy with modded planets.
I have a couple of different behaviour profiles now which can give some variation.

If you're meaning so I can use them in Survival Impossible, unless Keen fix the very broken behaviour of the animals I don't intend to add them to that series so it's probably not worth it, but if you're just thinking for people who want to use the planet then that'd be great :)

I'm hopeful Capac might discover a few more things about your mod in the coming weeks as well - sort of surprised he hasn't already met your friends to be honest :P
