### Balance & Pet Food Changes, Patch 3.6.2 July 21, 2025
- Pet Tamer now mentions Patreon's Monthly Donator names in a quote.
- Pet Obtainment condition for Pet Tamer is now instanced.
- Few localization fixes.
- Updated notice.
### Balance Changes
- Pet Slows now cannot be applied to immune/uninteractable enemies + Dungeon Guardian and such enemies.
- Light Pet crafting where another Light Pet is included in the Recipe now has a 1.5 multiplier to the cap of Qualities. This way if a Light Pet recipe has another Light Pet in it, and if that Light Pet's qualities are high, new Light Pet's qualities can also be high and even higher. Before, this was unlikely.

> Holy stat stick. Its okay for it to be a very strong stat stick on vanilla, but if we are talking any mod that adds content for post-Moon lord, Moonling is too strong and is the clearly most popular Pet.
- Moonling
- Melee:
- New: Now Reduces Movement speed by 15%
- Reduced Melee Damage boost to 15% from 20%
- Ranged:
- New: Now reduces maximum health by 12%
- Reduced Crit damage boost to 5% from 10%
- Magic:
- New: Now reduces maximum health by 12%
- Reduced Mana bonus to 80 from 150
- Summoner:
- New: Now reduces maximum health by 12%
- Reduced Whip speed bonus to 5% from 30%
- Reduced Whip range bonus to 25% from 45%

> Just adapting to new modern Breath effectiveness changes done by tModLoader, this should also increase effectiveness & make the effect feel better.
- Shark Pup
- Changed Breath timer increase to be making Breath last 25% longer (additive)

> Same reasoning as Shark Pup.
- Baby Truffle
- Changed 4 (0.47 seconds) points of breath timer increase breathing effectiveness by 4% multiplicatively.

> Benefits regarding Breath system in my opinion is interesting and is definetly useful, so why not a little buff for our cute friend
- Baby Penguin
- New: Increases current Breathing effectiveness by 15% multiplicatively.

### Pet Food Changes
- Removed: Pet Items and Light Pet items Shimmering now isn't disabled.
- New: Shimmering Pet items now give exactly how much Pet Food is required in that Pet's Recipe. **Does not drop anything else but the Pet Food.**
- Increased Pet Food requirement to craft Baby Face Monster and Baby Eater to 75 from 25.
- Pet Food tooltip now mentions Pets Shimmering results in only Pet Food and how it can be obtained.
- Adjusted Pet Tamer's quotes accordingly. (Removed a quote with the changes)
- **Note: None of the additions below will and shouldn't affect actual drops, only one that does modify is the Extractinator table, but it will only modify the Copper Coins, so should always be a net profit, and not affect any relevant drops.**
- New: Now upon successfully catching any fish, you have a 20% chance to get 1-2 extra Pet Food.
- New: Chopped all tree-type tiles have a 2% chance to drop 1 extra Pet Food.
- New: Breaking mature or blooming herb tiles have a 33.3% chance to drop 1 extra Pet Food.
- New: Completing an Angler Quest have a 33.3% chance to drop 5-10 extra Pet Food.
- New: Now Extractinator Table's 5% of Copper Coin is replaced with Pet Food. This is increased to 10% for Chlorophyte Extractinator. (If you're dropping Copper Coin of any amount from an Extractinator, with 5% or 10% chance, it will turn into a Pet Food.)

### Slow System Overhaul, Patch 3.6.1, July 11, 2025
- **Slows now get applied to ALL enemies (even damage immune ones), including Bosses.**
- Slows on boss type of enemies are 20% effective.
- Added a Pet Tamer Line to mention Pet Slows on bosses are less effective.
- **Implemented IL Edit code to insert custom modifiers to NPC's movement depending on given Pet Slow modifier.**
- **Fixed Slows messing up with enemies AI's after their slow runs out.**
- **Slows are now properly applied with liquid movement changes.**
- **Fixed some enemies, especially non-tile colliding enemies changing directions on where they are going after being slowed. This usually caused bosses such as Brain of Cthulhu to be unkillable when Creepers gets slowed as they would travel off screen.**
- Removed most of the old slow related code, such as custom hook added before NPC's Pre-AI
- Tidied up Global NPC code

### Patch 3.6.0.2, June 11, 2025
- Fixed Piece of Moonsquid not appearing on /pet light command, and instead Moonling Pet appearing there.
- Fixed in Russian localization, items that needs to be consumed to unlock Light Pet recipes stating, you need to have the items in your inventory.
- Fixed Baby Face Monster's Resource/Stack display not saying its 0 regen after taking damage.
- Fixed a few values on Chinese localization. By: ROH
- Updated both base Mod's and Calamity Addon's images.

### Town Pets Rework, Patch 3.6, June 1, 2025
- Removed: All Old Town Pet buffs & their systems.
- **Added new systems for implementation of Town Pet Buffs.**
- **Town Pet Buffs now only raise Pet related stats that mostly improves your main Pet. There can be only 1 active at a time, and they are only obtained by 'petting' a Town Pet. Acting like station buffs, these buffs will not be lost, as long as Player doesn't die or remove the buff themselves, so Town Pet Buffs now can be carried anywhere. They now do not scale with Hardmode etc.**
- When Town Pet Buffs are acquired, or switched with a different one, sound effect will be played.
- Pet Tamer now mentions that you should give Town Pets some love.
- If Player does not have a Town Pet Buff on them, Town Pets will now tell the player to pet them.
- Added a new custom set for Town Pet buffs.
- Added new localization values for Town Pets etc.
- Game will now remember your 'latest tooltip choice'. If you close game with detailed tooltips, that will now stay when you come back.
- Changed location of Town Pet Buffs. They are now located alongside other Town Pet systems within TownPet folder.
- Fixed missing values in Brazillian Portuguese and Russian Translation in a few misc places. (Machine translation)
- Improved code documentation.
- Updated notice.
- Updated description.

### Simplified Tooltips, Patch 3.5, May 24, 2025
- **Added Simplified tooltips for all Pets.**
- Adjusted Pet Tooltip codes.
- Removed <class> keys from localization values. (except a few)
- Added system (also kept system for <class>) to automatically add Pet's class text to tooltips without <class>.
- Removed 'tooltip toggle' config option for simplicity purposes, and anything related (as now tooltips are simpler, there should be no need for this)
- Removed ItemTooltipChanges and GlobalBuff class.
- Removed Baby Truffle's 'press x to show all stats', now shows all stats by default.
- Removed Switch Tooltip and Hide Tooltip Keybind.
- Added Show Detailed Tooltip Keybind.
- Changed default keybind of Pet Ability Switch to Left Alt from Left Ctrl.
- Fixed small typo on Baby Ogre's detailed tooltip & Turtle's keybind text.
- Adjusted a few localization values.
- Shark Pup now appears as Fishing & Utility class rather than Fishing & Offensive.
- Slightly adjusted some Pet codes.
- Phantasmal Dragon Pet can now switch between abilities even when not equipped. (So now the tooltip can be switched around)
- Added 'Name' values for Phantasmal Dragon's Spells.
- Removed Phantasmal Dragon Pet's buff changing color depending on current ability.
- Removed Phantasmal Dragon Pet displaying dusts on top of Player depending on current ability.
- **Added Phantasmal Dragon Pet and Moonling Pet's current spell & class to Pet Resource display, so current ability can be viewed. (with color!)**
- Adjusted Moonling Pet's Tooltips list code to better fit Resource display.
- Adjusted Pet Stack/Resource Display to now have a special string to directly adjust rather than displaying an int value at the end.

### Deerclops Rework, Patch 3.4.6, May 15, 2025
- Fixed Slime Servants trying to target NPC's they cannot hit, and actually being able to hit them.
- Improved Ice Queen's strike logic in which NPC's should be hit.
- Fixed Parrot Pet attempting to double striking enemies it cannot & are not alive.
- Fixed Turtle Pet being able to reflect damage to enemies that it shouldn't actually hit.
- Fixed Twins Pet Increasing damage dealt with outer ring with multiplier (again) rather than adding to base dmg that scales. Now properly adds as flat damage, which scales with damage bonuses. (This time actually.)
- Reduced cost of Pet Forge from Pet Tamer to 20 gold from 50 gold
- Improved documentation within code.
- Updated notice.

> This Pet is 90% of the time first Pet of any Player. And its solely useful in Fishing and Fishing up enemies. Adding a new utility tool and removing the Fishing Power to differentiate this Pet far more than other Fishing pets, and make it somewhat usable in non-fishing scenarios.

- Removed +10 Fishing Power
- New: Increases underwater breath time by 5~ seconds.

> Pet overall does feel a bit underwhelming. Aiming to make the Pet help Player navigate through the Corruption, and especially Corruption biome with these changes.
- Baby Eater
- Increased Movement Speed to 11% from 10%
- Increased Jump Speed boost to 65% from 50%
- Increased bonus blocks till fall damage while in an evil biome to 30 from 20

> First things first, ALL classes have at least 4 Pets. Only exception was Melee. So thats now fixed, as our 4th Melee pet will be Tiny Deerclops. Secondly, the Pet was a bit inconsistent to use; you'd want to really run into enemies to make it work? And it may not have worked at times when you would want. Now adding a Passive effect which should provide consistency, AND adding a new direct active ability, in which should have immense Crowd Control potential. (or vs. multi-segmented bosses, it will be monitored if its too good) Pet, at least to my opinion, seems WAY more exciting & interesting now. And I believe with this patch, Tiny Deerclops should feel more like 'Deerclops'.
- Tiny Deerclops
- COMPLETELY REMOVED: Old effects.
- New: All damage received from any enemy outside of 20 blocks is reduced down by 10%.
- Unchanged: You will store all damage you receive for 4 seconds.
- New: Press Pet Ability Keybind to consume all stacks, which will grant you 20% of the consumed value as a Shield for 5 seconds. Using the ability also initiates a charge;
- New: Upon 1.5 seconds of charge is over, (A satisfying sound effect included with the charge!) strike all enemies in a 28.12 blocks long cone. Damage is equal to damage consumed + your defense, and is increased by your Melee damage bonuses & Damage reduction value (multiplicative increase). Every hit past first one has its damage reduced down by 10%, up to 50%.
- **Enemies hit in the middle of the cone will have all of their defense ignored for the incoming hit.**
- All hit enemies are slowed by 15% for 2 seconds.
- Both for shield and damage purposes, the consumed damage value is capped at 50% of Player's maximum health.
- Ability has a 25 seconds cooldown. (Damage is still stored even when on cooldown)
