General gameplay.
This guide will be updated as i find issues or helpful tips.

*Disclaimer: This guide applies to the unmodded version of the game and is not all-encompassing.

1. First thing is to realize this game is still broke as hell and if you call the devs out on it they will attempt to bully you, dont believe me, check it out for yourself in reviews and forums.

2. Turn realistic wheelspeed off. If you like frustration and suicidal ideation then leave realistic wheelspeed on, this will greatly intensify both of the aforementioned emotions.

3. If you like immersion leave realistic sounds on. (No sound except inside vehicles, space vaccum).

4. Do not overwrite saves many complaints about this(Just to be safe).

5. Alt tabbing out of the game actually pauses the game.
Robotics.
1. If you want to go it alone and figure it out on your own, cool, dont read this guide.

2. Do not go all ham researching everything you can right off the bat. I have only used one avenue of approach, though attempted many, which is the following. (Research EAS before you start missions - skip time)Basic probe with EAS - do all missions possible this will give you enough to research and launch a small rover.

*Note: By left clicking on an item in the left menu list the lines along the bottom of the research screen shows what research is required for the individual item.

*Note: do not use anything that is not required by mission, waste of money.

*Note: Do not leave nightvision on before disconnecting from a probe/vehicle causes black screen when returning to mission control. If you do you can exit to main menu and then return with continue game which will fix. Disclaimer: this is not a guarantee, SAVE OFTEN!!!!!

*Note: If you research a tech you will then have missions that require said tech and it will screw you on your vehicle setup. The small rover can only hold one instrument, low gain antennae, a power source of your choosing (which should be thermal generator small - lasts 2 yrs supposedly), two cameras (Just use one - should be wide angle terrain [tele-focus are useless]), and batteries which are utterly useless(Do not use).

*Note: If you choose not to use the low gain antennae you will have extremly limiting range which will make the rover bankrupt you.

3. Research small rover, thermal generator small, low gain antennae, and basic color CCD chip for color photos. (Skip time).

4. You should have approximately 1600k left which is more than enough.Build small rover with the above mentioned gains in research. Do all missions possible.

*Note: The front of the rover is the end with the longer wheel bar mounting.(camera should go in the front)

*Note: The small thermal generator does not produce 35w as the tooltip describes, it produces 19.9w to 20w and you will have a power drain of anywhere from 4.7w to 2.7w sitting still. fluctuates(WHY, IDFK). As seen below.

5. Some instruments have limited uses, accomplish main mission(s) first. To seperate the missions go to the top left then to Nav and select appropriate tabs or you can go to the map and assign your vehicle to the main missions only.

*Note: Once you have used up the limited use instruments objectives for them will still show. You must travel approximately 220-230 yards to reset missions most of the time, but not always sometimes hitting a blue mission will cause the greens to reset.

*Note: The screenshot below shows a profit of 7000k in a 12 hour in-game time period(0800 a.m.-2000 p.m.)

This is enough information to get you started and maybe enjoying the robotics portion of the game.

*Note: The game is woefully lacking in information to the player and therefore i have spent a lot of time just getting to this point. The research tech tree is insufficient in that it does not inform the player what an item can be used on such as soil scoop, what can i use this on? who knows point being SAVE before making any decisions.

Manned Missions.
*Note: It is somewhat useful to go through the tutorials even though they are incomplete.

1. The objectives must be completed in order at least until the end of mission 4(Check save screen to know which mission you are on).

2. When you start out searching take care not to rush, items can be missed easily, also adjust the game settings to your liking, it helps.

3. Fuel cannisters for the buggy are easier to load if you load from the side the connector is on. The fuel cannisters for the other vehicles are easier if you load the ones that are spatially behind other cannisters.

*Note: Fuel consumption of each fuel type is not equivalent.

4. The rangefinder is useless junk, yes pick it up because it is an objective. Use first person and scroll mousewheel to get a better view.

5. To "setup" machines you must hold them "E" key then assemble using the assembly tool.

6. The game is extremely finnicky sometimes, moving to different positions when trying to access an inventory or squatting to go through a door is helpful if on uneven ground.

7. Trying to use logic to accomplish something will cause exteme emotion and when you dont use logic it will cause extreme emotion (You are going to get emotional in a bad way with this game). I hope this guide helps.
