How I Would Change Dead By Daylight
由 Yukari The Alpaca 制作
This is how I would change DBD to be a more fun and balanced experience. The idea is to keep these changes as realistically feasible as possible and to make sure that these are balanced for both sides. Consistency is important here.

General/Killer/Survivor Changes
General Changes

- Haste bonuses no longer stack. If multiple Haste effects would be active at the same time, only the largest Haste value will be active.

- Hindered penalties no longer stack. If multiple Hindered effects would be active at the same time, only the largest Hindered value will be active.

Pro-Killer Changes

- If a survivor becomes Healthy by any means, it now counts as that survivor performing a Conspicuous Action.

- Interacting with Killer Objects (such as Hallucinations, Jigsaw Boxes, Pools Of Devotion, Bear Traps, Phantasm Traps, The Lament Configuration, etc.) are now considered Conspicuous Actions

- Killer Lunge Attack Acceleration Time (the time taken to reach maximum movement speed when starting a lunge) is now instant. The Lunge Duration of all killers is now reduced by 50 percent but their normal Lunge Movement Speed has been increased by 100 percent. These changes should help reduce the ability for survivor players with very fast reaction speeds to camp pallets without ever being hit. Even with the changes to lunge speed and duration, the killer will still cover the same amount of distance with their Lunge Attacks but the amount of time for them to do so is greatly reduced; making them almost unreactable to most survivor players and will instead require prediction from the survivor player.

- Survivor perks that would increase repair speed or repair progress gains have been changed to have entirely different effects.

- Killer Stall Perks have been adjusted to account for the fact that only one can be used by the killer during a trial.

Pro-Survivor Changes

- Any time a survivor is unhooked by another survivor, the unhooked survivor instantly becomes Healthy (if possible) and is warped to a random location at least 40 meters away from the killer. This effect is disabled during the End Game Collapse or if any of the last 3 remaining Generators have over 75% repair progress.

- Killers can only use 1 Stall Perk during the trial, which can be equipped in their own Pressure Perk slot; separate from their other perk slots.

- Killers can no longer perform the Damage Generator action unless they are using a perk that specifies they may do so.
The Shape
Basic Stats

Default Movement Speed: 4.6 m/s
Default Terror Radius: 32 meters
Default Height: Tall
Lullaby: No
Directional Lullaby: N/A

Ability 1

Tap the Ability Button to cause The Shape to Brace themselves for a short time. If The Shape were to be stunned by any means during this time, a penalty is applied to whoever or whatever attempted the stun effect:

- If a Pallet Stun was attempted, the Pallet used will be instantly destroyed and The Shape will not become stunned by it.
- If a Item Blinding Stun was attempted, the associated item used for the attempted stun will be destroyed and if a survivor was holding, they will immediately scream.
- If a Perk Stun was attempted, the perk will become disabled for a long time.

The Shape suffers from a heavy movement speed penalty for a short time if Brace is activated without preventing a stun effect before it becomes inactive again. The Shape cannot perform interactions or Basic Attacks while Brace is active and for a short time after it becomes inactive.

Passive

Performing certain actions will cause The Shape to generate Evil, a special currency that is reset to zero after each trial. The Shape gains Evil by damaging Healthy survivors, damaging Injured survivors, hooking Dying survivors, and breaking Dropped Pallets.

Ability 2

Holding the Alternate Ability Button will open the Upgrade Wheel as well as temporarily lock the ability to look around as The Shape. The Shape use their looking controls in combination with the Basic Attack Button to purchase upgrades for their basic Killer Attributes during the trial. The Shape can purchase upgrades that increase their Movement Speed, reduce their Terror Radius size, increase their Successful Basic Attack Recovery Speed, and increase their Interaction Speed. Purchases can be repeated but will cost double the amount of Evil that the last upgrade did. Upgrades can be repeatedly purchased up to a certain amount and will stack with themselves.

The Trapper
Basic Stats

Default Movement Speed: 4.8 m/s
Default Terror Radius: 32 meters
Default Height: Tall
Lullaby: No
Directional Lullaby: N/A

Ability 1

While looking at a Vault Location or Pallet within a very short range, holding the Ability Button for a short time will Trap it, causing different effects to survivors who interact with the Vault Location or Pallet depending on the object's current state and object type. The Trapper cannot move while Trapping an object and only a certain amount of Trapped Objects can exist at one time, removing the Trap from the oldest object after the maximum is reached. When a survivor becomes effected by a Trapped Object, their location is revealed via Killer Instinct for a short time. Below are the list of effects of Trapped Objects:

Standing Pallet - The Trapper nails the Pallet down, preventing survivors from dropping it for a short time after they first attempt to do so, playing a short animation of the survivor struggling to drop the pallet as the nails loosen. Survivors attempting to drop a Nailed Pallet are locked in the animation of doing so until they take damage or manage to actually drop the Nailed Pallet. After a survivor drops a Nailed Pallet, the nails are removed from it.

Dropped Pallet - The Trapper covers the Pallet in glass shards, causing survivors who interact with the Pallet to be forced to slowly vault over it or receive damage. After a survivor vaults over an affected Pallet, the glass shards are removed from it.

Vault Location - The Trapper deploys a Bear Trap under the Vault Location, causing the next survivor who interacts with the Vault Location to become Immobilized for a short time or until they take damage.

Passive

The Trapper's Lunge Attacks have a larger movement speed bonus compared to most killers. The Trapper takes longer to recover from missed Lunge Attacks. The Trapper performs Break and Vault actions faster.

The Hag
Basic Stats

Default Movement Speed: 4.6 m/s
Default Terror Radius: 24 meters
Default Height: Short
Lullaby: No
Directional Lullaby: N/A

Ability 1

Hold the Ability Button to cause The Hag to stop moving and draw a Phantasm Sigil on the ground below them. If a survivor runs within a short range of a Phantasm Sigil, it will explode and create a Phantasm where the Phantasm Sigil was; creating a Link between the survivor who triggered the Phantasm Sigil and the newly created Phantasm. Phantasms look exactly like The Hag and do not move from their position but will rotate in the direction of the survivor that they are Linked to. Survivors suffer from multiple effects while Linked to a Phantasm:

- Survivors are forced to look in the direction of the Phantasm they are Linked to.
- Survivors cannot see the Killer Stain of The Hag.
- Survivors must remain within a moderate range of their Linked Phantasm or risk damage.

Survivors can perform the Wipe Sigil action while standing still over a Phantasm Sigil to remove the Phantasm Sigil without causing it to create a Phantasm. Phantasms only exist for a short time after creation and will also immediately disappear if a survivor they are Linked to takes damage.

Only a certain amount of Phantasm Sigils can be in the trial at one time. Placing a Phantasm Sigil after the maximum is reached will remove the oldest Phantasm Sigil. The auras of Phantasm Sigils and Phantasms are always shown to The Hag. Phantasm Sigils cannot be placed within a certain range of an already existing Phantasm Sigil.

Ability 2

Tap the Alternate Ability Button while looking at the aura of a Phantasm Sigil or Phantasm to Warp to it, causing The Hag to become stunned for a short time after the Warp has completed; with the duration being dependent on if The Hag warped to a Sigil or a Phantasm. The Hag can only Warp to a Phantasm Sigil or Phantasm after a certain amount of time has passed since a Warp was last performed.

Ability Stats

Phantasm Sigil Trigger Radius: 2.7 meters
Phantasm Sigil Max Count: 10 Sigils
Phantasm Sigil Minimum Placement Range: 6 meters
Phantasm Sigil Draw Time: 2.5 seconds

Phantasm Duration: 3 seconds

The Skull Merchant
Basic Stats

Default Movement Speed: 4.6 m/s
Default Terror Radius: 32 meters
Default Height: Average
Lullaby: No
Directional Lullaby: N/A

Ability 1

Tap the Ability Button to deploy an Active Drone on the ground below where The Skull Merchant is currently standing. While a Drone is active, it will hover a large distance off the ground and create a visible Tracking Ring on the ground directly below itself that is visible to both The Skull Merchant and survivors. Survivors within the Tracking Ring will suffer from various effects. Below are the effects afflicted upon survivors within range of an Active Drone:

  • Survivors have their auras revealed to The Skull Merchant while standing, performing interactions, or running.
  • Survivors cannot see the Killer Stain.
  • Survivors are Electrocuted; locking them in place for a short time when queuing up any interaction with a Vault Location or Pallet, adding a short delay before performing the action. Forces Medium Vaults at Vault Locations.

Only a certain amount of Drones can be in the trial at one time. While the maximum amount of Drones is present in the trial, another Drone cannot be placed. The auras of Drones are always visible to The Skull Merchant. Drones cannot be placed within a certain range of other Drones.

Survivors can Disable an Active Drone to force it to become Inactive by interacting with the Active Drone for a length of time. While disabling a Drone, that survivor's aura is hidden from The Skull Merchant. Inactive Drones do not produce a Tracking Ring and must passively reboot to become Active again, taking a long amount of time to do so. The auras of Inactive Drones are shown to The Skull Merchant in yellow.

Ability 2

Hold the Alternate Ability Button to open The Skull Merchant's Control Device. While the Control Device is open, two actions can be performed; both sharing the same cooldown after either is used:

  • While looking at the aura of an Active Drone, tap the Basic Attack Button while the Control Device is open to Recall the Drone, removing it from the trial.
  • While looking at the aura of an Inactive Drone, tap the Ability Button while the Control Device is open to Force Reboot the Drone, causing it to instantly become Active again.

Passive

If The Skull Merchant is inside of an Active Drone's Tracking Ring that no survivor is currently (or was recently) inside of, The Skull Merchant gains a large Haste bonus that will last until they leave the Tracking Ring or a survivor walks into the same Tracking Ring.

- The Mastermind will now slide off of debris they touch instead of bumping on it during the use of Virulent Bound; this does not apply when touching Vault Locations or Dropped Pallets, which will still cause The Mastermind to vault them.

- Removed the minimum distance empty space requiremnt to initiate a Bound.

The Unknown

- Weakened survivors hit by a Basic Attack or damaged by a UVX Blast will reset the time required for them to Stare Down The Unknown.
