So many things still aren't implemented. Wait for official release before spending your money. At the current pace I think it will be another 5 years or so before you can really enjoy the game without mods. Even then, its already feeling outdated and many modders are giving up

No reason not to enjoy this

Survival games breed toxic players, ones who are constantly lowering the bar and looking to really take a dump on someones day.

Mix that with exploits that allow you to get into any base with no effort at all and you have yourself a bunch of no lifers ready to pop a squat.

Do yourself a favor and wait for the game to be fixed before attempting to enjoy it

This game is great.

If you run into problems or have suggestions the devs will listen and reply to many comments. That in itself is a reason to support this game, knowing it has a very active team commited to giving you the best experience with their product.

When you have devs commited to serving the community you get great early access games you can count on and City of the Damned is one of them.

I really liked the shelter mod in this game, the versus mode puts up to 4 v 4 in a shelter vs shelter match with zombies coming in each day like tower defense. You gain skills and can help scavenge for resources, use better weapons, or build up your base.

Probably best for a group of friends who can do at least 3v3, imo its really fun and i wish there were more games out there like it
