Welcome to Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom, a game with a slightly confusing plot, and with so much good content, it really is hard to find a thing I don’t like about it, save for the few that I’ve selected. But we’ll get around to that. The story of Shiness: TLK is one that is centered around Chado, an odd bear like creature that is following a Shiness – one of the primordial beings of Shi – whilst being accompanied by his friend Poky.

Fighting game meets RPG
In RPG games, you level up by killing monsters for set amounts of XP. In Shiness, your stats level up with pre-determined values, but you can also learn moves that increase your stats by equipping Disciplines. The more you use the moves in combat, you'll earn experience towards that ability until you have learned it, allowing you to build and expand your combat repertoire.

While your current character is in battle, kicking and kung-fu'ing the crap out of everything that moves, your teammates are waiting on the sidelines of the arena. If you've set up your support commands, they can aid you in battle by healing you or negating negative status effects. Support commands can be found in treasure containers, awarded in challenges or given to you during the story. Once it is unlocked, it's available for every character to use.

SOUND AND GRAPHICS
During some cutscenes that look similar to the actual gameplay, the characters speak in english, while at other times during comic book/manga inspired cutscenes the characters will speak a foreign language with text bubbles to read. It's a weird style mixing them both like that but it works well enough to not feel like it could ruin someones experience. The voice acting was a little bit out of place and cheesy, with Chado's not clicking with me for some reason. Overall everything just sounds like the developers may not have agreed with one another's opinions so they "compromised." Graphically I loved the design of the world and characters. This is what I mentioned earlier in the review. There's never any cliche environments that when you walk through you absolutely know which biome it's meant to be. Each environment is unique yet encompasses enough diversity to surprise you of what you're seeing every other corner. The almost cartoon design behind it all makes it immediately project joy onto the player.

INGAME BUG
There is one major game-breaking bug, though, and I experienced it three or four times in my playthrough. Occasionally I'd have a character lose all of their health without being knocked out. Instead, they stayed standing but were unable to attack or be attacked. This would require a reset and some lost game time. Hopefully, this is something the developer will address quickly.

PROS:
+Great combat mechanics.
+Easy to use support system.
+Gorgeously presented.
+Great soundtrack that fit the games style and theme.
+Colorful presentation
+Simple to understand, hard to master action battle system
+Full Of Puzzle while exploring from place to place

Cons
-lacks of game time length for an RPG
-Visual glitches
-Game is well crafted but it offer nothing new.
-Mediocre Story

Neautral
=Invisible Wall

Conclusion
those who love action RPGs from the 90s will find plenty to like in the game since Shiness is quite fun for the whole duration of the adventure, despite its predictable story, lackluster writing and somewhat wonky battle controls.
Many will find the length of the game to be 15-20 hours (more or less depending on your pace) but features a good amount of side quests and off the beaten path adventuring. The camera can be a huge pain, and the voice acting will most likely not be loved, nor hated. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in this strange world with strange characters and am looking forward to replaying it sometime in the near future. It tries to do a lot and for the most part successfully delivers.

My Verdict
Graphics: 8.5
Sound: 7
Gameplay: 7
Control: 9
Story: 7

Score 7.7/10
The Game have potential but a lack of polish definitely hold this good game back from being great

What you probably don’t know is that Halo Wars was the final release of Ensemble Studios (Age of Empires). Sadly, even prior to the release of Halo Wars they had been marked for closure. Despite strong sales and a good reception, the writing was on the wall and even the game seemed to be a one-off.

Pros
+Game has aged very well and transferred well over to the PC
+Very smooth and visual upgrades are well made
+Game is easy to understand and play
+Strips down Real Time Strategy for use on a controller
+Lots of love for the Halo Universe
+Multiplayer has lots of modes
+Online Co-op for Campaign

Cons
-Reuse of Assets can be a bit obvious
-Not a game for experienced RTS players
-Limitations from the original release are needlessly kept in the game where removing them would improve it
-Not a real definitive edition, more of a graphical remaster
-limited options available

I feel it’s important to get this information out at the beginning, as sort of a disclaimer. Especially, for those that may have played the original Xbox 360 version. Since there could be some that wonder if it’s worth picking up a Steam VersionOther than running at a smooth 1080p and 60 FPS and including all the DLC, which is mainly multiplayer maps. It also runs up to 4K on PC. Everything about Halo: Wars Definitive Edition is exactly the same, as its Xbox 360 counterpart.

Personally, I’m not someone that plays RTS games. Give me a Strategy Role-Playing Game and I’d probably give it a shot. RTS games just have too much going on for me to understand. The draw to the original, like for many others, was probably the Halo tie-in. Being a huge fan of the Halo universe, it gave me a reason to want to play the game. Ensemble and Microsoft absolutely honored that by showing some major love and affection to the Halo lore. From the moment a player starts the game, they are treated to familiar looking menus. Music akin to what’s in the other games. Not to mention, campaign and multiplayer modes.

what I enjoyed is how easy it was to setup a base and get units rolling quickly. I wasn’t bogged down with minutia of selecting through so many kinds of units. It was easy to see where the upgrades were and the game explained them. So, I could decide if I wanted to use medics or instead use the healing ability. Then, the focus could go on something else. This goes even further, once there are missions where you are tasked with multiple bases.

However, this may be where the game falters a bit. The over simplification can create situations where you just keep pumping out the same units every mission. Controlling multiple bases on the later missions at higher difficulties does add some chaos and variety though. Ultimately, the campaign is more preparation for the multiplayer. Regardless of difficulty, the campaign is fun. But there’s not many situations where your base will get overrun. Especially, if you figure out how to keep bases protected,

Conclusion:
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition acts as a good remaster of what has shown itself to be a game that stands the test of time fairly well. Still inhibited by restrictions implemented due to its Xbox 360 origins, it still manages to be fairly enjoyable and look pretty decent while doing it.

My verdict: 8/10 play it if you are a big HALO fan.

Hyakka Hyakurou is a rather short game with a straightforward story. It don’t not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a complex story with heavy plot, though other than that, it’s actually a good game. The art, the cast, the BGMs, and of course, the awesome battle scenes, are all excellent.

Pros
+You Get To Date 5 Good Looking Ninjas
+Well Drawn Arts
+Nice Soundtrack and Ending theme.
+Multiple Endings with a lot of replay value
+reasonable price for an 40 hours + game.

Cons
- i found none since i am enjoy reading through till the end.

Note: This game is usually aimed at a female audience. A game with a female protagonist, with the central focus on developing a relationship with one or more male characters.

Bayonetta is a fond throwback to the days of 3-D action games, not unlike Devil May Cry or God Of War. A majority of the game involves running around fairly linear paths, having the path close off, and having to defeat enemies to progress. Nothing too special. Fortunately, though, the combat is absolute gold. Bayonetta has all of the moves Dante had back in Devil May Cry, like jumping, melee, and shooting attacks, among a few unique traits as well. For example, holding down the punch or kick button lets Bayonetta use the guns strapped to her hands and feet. Rotating the movement analog stick and pressing the attack button lets Bayonetta go into an odd shooting sequence where players blast enemies with repeated gunfire. The most interesting inclusion to combat, and generally the most profitable, is Witch Time. By dodging enemy attacks at the very last second, Bayonetta can slow down time and attack enemies for extra damage and points. These skills are the tip of the iceberg and once more abilities are added to Bayonetta's arsenal, the game shifts into overdrive. It just never stops.

Pros
+ Fantastic combat system is stylish, diverse, and unquestionably visceral
+ Incredible graphics make combat flashy and intense
+ Multiple difficulties and game medals will keep you coming back
+Excellent style and overall game design
+Quirky characters and story

Cons
- Storyline delivery can be pretty cheesy
- Not a huge penalty for dying
-No WQHD support

Now before I start, I'll mention that I'm a big DMC fan, as well as a moderate God of War fan, but I think it's safe to say that Platinum Games have made an action game on par with DMC 3 and GoW 2 (which are my favourite games in the 2 series gameplay wise).

Unlike DMC and GoW, there is no “Devil Trigger/Rage “ mode in this game. Instead, magic is used for Torture Attacks, which are powerful (sometimes 1-hit-KO) attacks that vary per enemy, you can continuously push the marked button to get extra Halos (Halos are the currency for the game, where you can buy healing items, accessories (more on them later) and techniques, amongst other things). Magic is also used for special abilities from techniques or accessories.

The enemies start off simple, not unlike Devil May Cry, but they slowly grow in size and stature. New weapons from fallen enemies change up the gameplay considerably, especially when switching items on the fly. The bosses are absolutely tremendous, some of the best ever seen in the genre. Leviathan angels and monstrous demons appear and dynamically change the way the boss fight is made. If taking out a monster over a pit of lava isn't big enough for you, try attacking a beast while in a free-falling stone temple. Yeah, Bayonetta doesn't skip on the showmanship, resulting in an absolutely unforgettable rollercoaster ride of an action game.

The familiarities to Devil May Cry don't end there. Bayonetta can rack up points with stylish and diverse combat, while also earning medals throughout depending on time, defense, and combat style (a kind homage to another Clover Studios title, Viewtiful Joe). Bayonetta can also earn Halos to spend on new weapons and skills in the Gates of Hell, or find hidden items to trade for more powerful stats. Aside from the combat, things can slow down considerably, especially when solving simple puzzles or avoiding environmental hazards. The combat still takes serious precedence in Bayonetta and the fact that it's so powerfully satisfying makes the minor problems disappear almost entirely. One minor issue is the lack of any serious penalty for dying. The worst that happens is a point deduction, but fans of the genre will push their skills to their limits. If you're aiming for high scores and awards (and unlockable difficulty settings), Bayonetta is definitely challenging. However, if you're after a simple run-through of the story (for shame!), Bayonetta can feel a bit forgiving.

The levels are pretty linear, with a set number of encounters in each one. After you finish battling in each separate encounter, you are given a medal ranking based on your performance. One thing that I found strange is that if you go through the level and even find all the “off the path” areas, you still won't engage in every battle. You have to back track to find them. Problem is, there is really no reason to back track except to find these extra battles. In some levels, I still haven't found every encounter (maybe I need an accessory I haven't bought?). This is odd to me, but doesn't hurt the gameplay unless you yearn to get every medal.

To mix things up, Bayonetta's most original feature is its dodging system. In order to defeat enemies easier and avoid hazardous obstacles, you must master the right trigger. You have to pull the trigger just before you are about to take damage, and you will go into Witch Time. This is a slow-motion segment that allows you to attack your enemies with little to no chance of them hitting you. It's highly useful, and also comes into play in puzzle situations, so it doesn't feel just like a gimmicky gameplay mechanic and actually feels like a fleshed out feature in the game.

Enemy variety also becomes an issue. The game tends to repeat bosses way too much, and without the added thrill of seeing them and defeating them like you get when you face them originally, it just feels like you are treading old ground. The people behind this game have created some of the most iconic video game monsters in history; there is no reason they couldn't have been more original with their enemy design.

On the bright side, the sometimes repetitive gameplay is broken up with vehicular segments that are high-octane and thrilling. These require a ton of skill to beat on the more difficult gameplay modes and yield pretty awesome moments. However, they go on for too long and lose a bit of their impact. It would have made more sense to separate out these gameplay segments over the game instead of just having a few long segments.

Grading
GRAPHICS: Excellent- Not the best graphics 3.7/5
SOUND: Great- Good voice work through out, 3.5/5
CONTROLS: Great- Fantastic fighting controls, a ton of moves can be combo-ed into any other move. 4.8/5
GAMEPLAY: Excellent- One of the few triple A actions games out there. Dante and Kratos have new competition. 4.7/5
Play Time/Replayability-The game is a standard 8-12 hours for an action game, but because of the great combat mechanics, the game is sure to keep on giving after the first playthrough. 4/5

Final Verdict 4.3/5
Bayonetta is a great game.the game designers had an idea, stuck with it, and didn't try to make it everyone's game. They made a really good beat ‘em up game that stands tall right next to games like DMC nad GOW.Good work Sega, But too bad the sequel is only playable on Nintendo System, although you can play it on cemu emulator.

Buy:it is a must buy and must play game with reasonable pricing.

A point-and-click game that will remind players of the Fighting Fantasy and Choose Your Own Adventure books – well, those who old enough to remember them. If you never owned one, imagine a story in which you are the hero in an adventure and unlike other books, which are presented in a linear pattern, you flip back and forth between the pages based on the choices you make as the narrative unfolds. It’s similar to Telltale Games’s Walking Dead series, in which the narrative branches based on the choices you makes.

PROS
+Well Written Story
+Well rounded characters
+Choices Ingame offers a lot of replay value

Cons
-Unskippable cutscenes

Neutral
=Only 2 endings

It has to be said at this stage that Life is Strange won’t appeal to everyone. A lot of the time you will get the very real sense that they aren’t so much playing a game as you are directing – and re-directing – scenes in an interactive television show. A lot of the story in Life is Strange is revealed in cutscenes and conversations, all of which are unskippable unless you've already witnessed them. Oh, and there’s the small matter that – at least in its first episode – Life is Strange isn’t exactly choc-full of high octane action; you don’t wade through rooms filled with enemies shooting them in the face. Story is key here and your enjoyment of this game hinges on your willingness to surrender to it completely.
The dialogue is consistently weak, and the fourth and fifth episodes aren’t as strong as the first three. Low-tech graphics can take you out of the game. characters and story are well written and drawn, with some excellent voice-acting. Moral decisions make a real difference. Great presentation and soundtrack.
My real complaint is that the game starts better than it ends, with an especially weak penultimate episode that’s poorly paced and labours its points with a clumsiness that the other chapters generally avoid. The same episode also introduces a new plot element that’s considerably less interesting and original than the others.
The final episode does largely recover it’s footing though, and even if the final game-ending decision comes a little out of nowhere it’s as gut-wrenchingly difficult as Dontnod obviously intended.

Final Verdict 4.5/5 must own
Despite its obvious flaws the reactive story and compelling characters make this one of the best storytelling experiences of the current generation.

Note:i will not spoil this great game for you. since i already play this one on ps4 and continue to play from last chapter where is my sister left out for different ending.

It’s a goofy plot, but it’s also what attracted me in the first place. It was too stupid of concept for me not to try, as I’m a big fan of games that manage to plant their tongue firmly in their cheek. To that extent, Paca Plus delivers. It’s definitely humorous and full of situations worthy of a chuckle. That said, if you’re hoping for any sort of seriousness, touching moments, or gameplay choices, this really isn’t for you.

Pros:
+ Amusing concept
+ Humorous execution
+ Strong audio work
+ Cheap Price

Cons:
- Few story choices
- Laughably bad translation
- Not enough art assets

Neutral
=Short Gameplay

Sometimes the creative capacity of the mind truly terrifies me. If you only pay attention to mainstream video games, you may be unaware of what the independent scene is capable of putting out and how there really is no such thing as too small of an audience. Case in point, Paco Project have brought a different spin to the visual novel genre with Paca Plus, a game that asks players how they would react if they started seeing their girlfriend as an alpaca

Like most quirky visual novels, PacaPlus isn’t long. A complete playthrough to attain its multiple endings should take most players anywhere from two to four hours. Once you get through the main storyline the other endings are pretty quick to collect. Simply be sure to create a save at each dialogue choice to be able to work your way quickly to other endings. Fortunately, a skip feature was included to make the process of completing it simple. It’s worth seeing all endings as they provide reasons for what happened to Yukari, as well as a totally creepy and unexpected ending in one case.

You might be able to tell at a glance, but this game isn’t for everyone. If, like me, you’re going into Paca Plus looking to laugh at an absurd concept, chances are you’re going to be pretty satisfied. It’s one situation where the translation is a plus, adding a B-movie feel to the experience. Those looking for a serious romance or some heart warming monument to love being more than skin deep will quickly find the translation issues to be too much to look past. Maybe the original Japanese story is stronger, but the English translation is no bard’s tale.

Final Verdict 3/5
With middling writing, readers will most likely find themselves playing simply because of the silly premise rather than because they care at all about Kazuma or Yukari’s plight. That’s not awful — but it would have been fantastic to see the second English version of this game offer immensely improved translation quality.

Note:If you find this ridiculous story intriging, then you’ll be glad to know that PacaPlus is cheaper than some other recent visual novel releases.
(I don't usually say this about 2D alpacagals, but that is one nice piece of fleece.)

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition doesn't offer a great deal of new content, but new visual polish and the quality and fun of the original game means that the package holds up well.Even if Full Clip Edition isn't the best upgrade around, at least it truly is the most definitive package.

PROS
+Solid, creative combat
+Good sense of progression
+Nice variety of weapons and enviroments
+Stupid, gruesome fun
+skillshot mechanics
+High-octane action

CONS
-Bland story
-One note characters
-Not enough content
-Humour can be dubious
-Duke Nukem DLC a waste of time

Still one of the most underrated, unique, and just plain fun shooters I've ever played. It's multiplayer may be an acquired taste, but the Single Players is one of the best paced campaigns of all time. The skill-point score system is just as addicting as it ever was and the dialog is just as LOL as it was back in 2011. It might be a little short (about 6 hours long) and the drama is a bit all over the place, but this still an excellent game. Here's hoping it does well so that EA will make a damn sequel already or Gearbox buys the rights from them so they can make one. The world needs more games where you get points by shooting a guys ♥♥♥♥ off, with a pistol that shoots rocket bullets.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is an unsatisfying remaster of an excellent game. Everything that made Bulletstorm a delight has been faithfully replicated, and the game runs extremely well. It's still one of the most enjoyable shooters in the past decade, and it's aged remarkably well. At the end of the day, it's about as bare-bones of a remaster as they come, but it still bears the price of a brand-new title. That's difficult to justify when the original is available for around $5 . If price is no object, Bulletstorm is still a top-notch game, but otherwise, it's probably better to wait for a price drop.

Verdict:3.5/5
An action game that is fun in the moment, but is quickly forgettable thanks to a poor story, one-note characters, and mixed visuals. While the actual gameplay itself is incredibly enjoyable, there just isn’t enough new content to justify this game’s existence.

At a budget price reflecting the age of the game and the lack of new content, this would be such an easy recommendation. Especially as I could so easily recommend you not waste your money on the cruddy half-arsed Duke DLC mode. At $30 that’s a tougher call for you to make.

If you’re looking for a fighter with a solid, interesting roster, then One Piece: Burning Blood is right up your alley. But, if you seek story and new insight from your anime-based games, you will be left wanting.

PROS
+Great roster with lots of variety.
+Combat dynamic is well executed
+Simplistic Controls
+Well-designed Characters
+Frantic action and tons of eye candy during battle
+Overall cel-shaded presentation is very true to the manga and anime
+Tutorials & simple-to-remember controls make for accessible fighting action

Cons
-Short campaign's story
-Repetitive even for a fighting game
-30fps lock
-New players will be completely lost with the story
-The camera view during gameplay allows for bigger characters to cover too much of the screen
-AI can be unbelievably dumb at times
-Random difficulty spikes make completing certain objectives a frustrating chore
-Story recaps the events of the series in a way that's incomprehensible to the uninitiated

It goes without saying that existing fans will get the most out of this one, but fighting game enthusiasts should still find some fun in exploring the nuances of the title's combat system. On the surface, Burning Blood is an accessible brawler that's built on a pretty standard rock-paper-scissors foundation: quick, normal combos beat guard breaking attacks to the punch, guard breakers smash through your foe's defences, and blocking nullifies regular blows. It's simple stuff at first, but once you factor in perfectly timed guards, sidesteps, heavy guard breakers, unique special attacks, and aerial offensives, things quickly become much more complex.

In terms of combat, One Piece Burning Blood does a good job of empowering you with spectacular fighting skills, no matter which character you opt for. In the same vein as the aforementioned Naruto games or the recent Saint Seiya brawlers, you take your chosen character(s) into battle, and attempt to put together a successful series of attacks.
With Square and Triangle as your main attacks, things feel pretty comfortable within moments, but the addition of ranged attacks, special moves, guard-breaks, tag moves called Unity Assists and Breaks, and the powerful Awakened state add extra depth that could easily have been missing. It’s never going to trouble any of the more technical 3D fighters, but there’s still a lot to grasp.

There are intense difficulty spikes at points in the campaign, which often rob proceedings of their fun, and I wasn’t sure whether the fact that every character levels up with use – they’ll still advance slowly without it – meant that I was simply at a disadvantage from the off.

One Piece: Burning Blood suffers from one of the worst things you can these days, repetitiveness. It’s evident in the gameplay, the story mode, and even the characters you fight while playing online. The top tier has kind of already been established, and players are quick to flock to it because they want a win. Ultimately your victories are won because you played better defense than your opponent, which runs counter to the bombastic nature of the One Piece series. Sure you can throw out all the wild attacks you want, and they’ll look really cool, but they’re also easily avoidable, and counterable. The lack of depth is what kills what should have been a really fun game, and that’s a shame because the effort to make this game beautiful is there, it’s just a shame the gameplay didn’t receive the same effort.

Final Verdict: 2.5/5 passable
I'm not a fan of One Piece: Burning Blood and it's not because of the unfamiliar source material. The combat here just isn't that fun, and no amount of colorful anime action will change that. While One Piece: Burning Blood may look pretty, offer some nice content and a bizarre cast it wasn’t enough to keep me interested. I can’t even imagine fans of the anime would get much out of this release, especially as this is just the latest entry in a long line of games based on this franchise.

READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ALTHOUGH I ALREADY OWN THE GAME AND BEAT THE GAME BACK WHEN IT IS RELEASE IN 2015. so this review is mostly what i felt about the game.just treat it as buying guideline and judge the game for yourself
if you have already play the game or playing it now on pc.

PROS
+Wide use of color palate
+Uses sci-fi setting instead of typical fantasy
+Can jump into the action or customize your character at the start
+Extra challenge and reward for delving deeper into dungeon

CONS
-Long-winded text conversations
-Dungeons could be designed better
-Typical amnesiac storyline
-Lots of backtracking(cause of frustration dungeon design)
-Complicated Leveling System(you need to go back to base all the time just to level up your party)
-Limited Save in Dungeon
-Level Restriction on early game, mid game story.
-Party designation is useless.(back row party if you are heavy on melee type party:only able to use spell,no melle attack for back row party)
-Dull combat.
-Weak lead characters.

Neutral
=Cannot Select Difficulty
=Unfair Boss fight and design (which i can look past)
=Grinding for level (you need it for later fight)

Operation Abyss is a pretty good game, or it would be if it wasn't bogged down by its atrocious UI. Seriously, almost nothing in this game follows the basic rules of how the simplest of menus should work. Trying to check your status or buying items from the shop will leave you blundering around checking and trying to understand every option. It feels like Operation Abyss tried to be unique, but didn't realize in time why the UI conventions we have exist in the first place. Don't even bother trying to look in the manual for how to do what you're looking to do because you'll be sent in circles trying to understand the ridiculous jargon.
The story isn't enough for me, a serial FFWD-er, to pay attention to. The character designs and art direction are just passable, and the battle system is about as senseless as anything else.
It being a simple (aka, hard mess up) genre saves it from destruction, and it has its own enjoyable moments, but I'd say to skip it. The frustrations aren't worth it, it's too hard to *really* get into because it is so incomprehensible.

In general the sound isn’t fantastic, memorable or alluring and the only real sound of note that I found was the one where the characters bump into a wall (which will happen quite frequently if you start dozing off in the middle of a mission like I did on many occasions).

Customization and crafting really is the game’s strong point, it takes a while to figure out at first but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be well away with creating stronger weapons, breaking down older ones for parts, analysing armour and boosting the stats of your current gear. There is what feels like a metric ton of gear to carefully construct, boost, affix and break down if required. I really enjoyed analysing the junk gear that variants dropped along with creating exotic and rare items.

There are a few caveats around levelling up as well. You can only level up when you go back to the medical centre to rest which can make exploring dungeons difficult when you’ve levelled up a few times and really could do with that extra power in order to vanquish the variants. Near the beginning of the game, you are also level capped to 15 until you progress with the story which seemed a bit pointless given the battle mechanics and that variants will become stronger and more aggressive the longer you fight them, until you choose to flee from battle which lowers the variant levels.

Exploration of dungeons bounces between an addictive exciting excursion where you’ve no idea what lies round the corner to seemingly never ending drudgery as you traipse round an already explored dungeon looking for one specific square with no clue other than ‘it’s further deeper in!’. The dungeons themselves are fairly plain looking, somewhat reminiscent of what an HD version of Wolfenstein 3D or the original Doom would look like now. This could have been a really gritty and grimy game but instead most of the sections are quite bland and fairly neutral – some blood stained floors or dirty walls wouldn’t have gone amiss.

Some of these missions are purely aggravating as you’ll repeat the same or very similar missions over and over – in particular there is one ‘find a lost person’ mission that went on for a bit too long… I mean, how much can one person get so lost that they seemingly never even seem to have a remote clue of where they are? I’m not one for overt realism in games but I did think that this was taking it a bit too far – questing just for the sake of quests!

Sadly, game play outside of combat is equally as flavourless. When not talking to NPCs or pouring over a laborious number of menus, players will find themselves roaming dungeons as they look for their next objective. It wouldn’t be so bad if each of these dungeons weren’t so featureless, but while the tile-set will vary from dungeon to dungeon, the only sort of props or aesthetic features you will ever run into are walls and doors. It’s unforgivably lazy.

Additional Note:
I’ll be frank and say that if you’re not into dungeon crawlers then you might as well quit reading now as this game probably won’t be for you. If you’ve never heard of this title before then you can be easily forgiven as it is actually a polished amalgamation of a Japanese language only DRPG trilogy on PS VITA.
(if you ever lost in a dungeon, you might as well draw the layout of the dungeon and start mapping which part teleport you to which door or trap, otherwise you will forever wonder the same place over and over again

Final Verdict: 2/5
With new and original ideas in very short supply, it’s hard to recommend Operation Abyss to anyone who doesn’t usually invest in offbeat Japanese roleplaying games. Yes, it may have all the essentials, but this is far from being a tour de force, feeling more like a flashy RPG Maker project than an actual published title.Overall, this was a frustrating and lukewarm experience that lacked cohesion and synergy. There are a lot of unusual and intriguing elements along with brilliant customisation. However, they are all quite loosely tied together and whilst it isn’t the worst game ever, it unfortunately doesn’t live up to the developer’s previous high standards that were set by Demon Gaze.
