Hmmm Steam Support said I got VAC Banned and that it isn't negotiable by Steam Support
what exact message are you getting? disconnected by vac? global cooldown? server ban? ingame ban? Your profile is showing no bans, or are you talking about another account with a ban?
I cannot launch CS2 via the Steam "Play" button however I can access CS2.exe by it's local files, but I cannot play at all CS2 as it seems like, when I press the play button in-game and select any of the modes it says
"Valve Anti-Cheat
Some of your game files have been detected to have no signatures or invalid signatures. You will not be allowed to join VAC secure servers. Please verify your launch options, check correctness of your game installation, restart the game and try again."
I have a video to prove the message and the not launching CS2 via Steam, I can make a Google drive link of you wanna see the videos.
Edit: Its the same account I'm writing on that got hacked like uh... October 5 2025, however I got my account back via Steam Support, before the hack I could play CS2 and CS:GO without any issue, however I've tried maxing the graphics which made my fps really low and I just stopped playing because I had like 5 fps, then, I got hacked, after I got my account back tried to play CS2 and I couldn't, and Steam Support says VAC Ban that's the whole story, it think I have the message... I'll leave in in the edit once I find it
Edit 2: exact Steam Support message:
"Message from Steam Support on Oct 18 @ 7:56am | 4 weeks ago
Your account, or an account using the phone number tied to your account, has connected to a VAC protected server while running cheat software, resulting in a VAC ban on your account. Even if you were unaware of cheats being used or were not using the account at the time the cheat was detected, VAC bans are permanent and we cannot remove them at Steam Support, nor do we offer an appeal system or disclose the detected cheat(s) which led to the ban.
VAC is designed to prevent players from using external applications to play games with an unfair advantage, and we maintain a zero tolerance policy towards cheating to establish a fair game for all players to enjoy.
Please see our I've been VAC banned article—this article contains all the information we provide at Steam Support in regards to VAC bans and their effects on banned accounts, and we do not provide information through help requests that cannot be found here.
Because we have provided all the information we have for your VAC ban I'm closing this help request. If you have an unrelated issue please create a new help request, but please note, future help requests about your VAC ban may be closed without a reply.

that sounds more of a problem with CS2 files then anything else. Did you verify the game files (ie going to the game in your steam library, right click on the game name and select properties, then a popup screen will appear, then select installed files and click on "verify integrity of gamefiles) , or did you try reinstalling CS2?
I tried both, first I tried verifying file integration and then reinstall but nothing good.. still same issue
Second part, doesn't make sense to me, as that is why i'm asking "what exact message you getting in game". As there is no bans showing on your profile and if i use external websites, it shows your profile is in good standing. The only other thing what i'm thinking of is maybe a "disconnected by vac" but you saying the game is not starting via steam itself, so that can't be it. Do you have anything in the launch options like "no intro" or anything?
https://steamdb.info/calculator/76561199511109731/
https://vaclist.net/account/76561199511109731
Well I haven't gotten anything or haven't edited the launch options... Atleast not me... Would the hacker edit that??? I'm not sure, but I've already uninstalled CS2 so idk if I can check
But also, there is another thing what i'm thinking of, as you are talking about your account being "hacked", there is steps what you can take to ensure your account is secure, but even then, you would have been able to start CS2 via steam without any problems. So thinking either something is interfering with CS2 and steam or there is software or drivers problem maybe, did you view windows "event viewer" after you tried the game via steam? to see if it gives any errors?
Steps to take to secure the account:
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices https://proxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App https://proxy.yuanyoumao.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/dev/apikey (there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
In the apikey link it says "Access Denied
You will be granted access to Steam Web API keys when you have games in your Steam account.
Visit Steam Support for more information", is that ok?
Edit: did you also try reinstalling steam, then tried starting CS2? Also i just went through the whole post again, saw that you mentioned messing around with settings, did you also reset those settings? possible reason, why you battling with CS2
ok, thats because your profile is limited, ie didn't make any purchase, if i'm not mistaken within the last year from today, but i can be wrong. By looking at your profile, it looks like you have lots of free to play games
You are getting that error because you are launching from cs2.exe instead of from steam, you must launch the game from steam
There are many reasons for it and thus there isn't a one simple fix, some of the fixes include
Launching Steam as administrator (or not launching as one if you are already launching as one)
Unchecking compatibility options from cs2.exe
Reinstalling game (with deletion of every file)
Reinstalling Steam (with deletion of every file)
Reinstalling DirectX
