Idt it's right people have to buy whole new computers to play games they already bought made to be played on those very systems.
Mr Newell needs a Legacy Launcher to be fair to people that may know they can't play the newer games, but like console should play the games they already have.
In any event, Win 10 is up next, but like Win 7 its gonna take years, but inevitably they're gonna get screwed as well, IF their PCs cannot handle Win 11, 12, or whenever MS gets an itch to fleece folks in effort to make more money.
Win7 users right now are dealing with backend issues where the only fix is to upgrade or install some random program people made to add the functionality to Windows 7.
Upgrades are part of the PC platform. Valve made it very clear that the system requirements for Steam will change over time. Ignoring that and demanding perpetual support for systems so old the manufacturers don't support them is a pipe dream.
Windows 7 users make up a insignificant minority. And they don't generate enough revenue to pay for themselves. If they could afford to pay for support, they could afford proper upgrades and side step the issue.
Being poor isn't something Valve needs to accommodate. Being stubborn isn't something Valve needs to accommodate. Refusing to upgrade isn't something Valve needs to accommodate. Any anyone who decided they were never buying another system up front shouldn't have chose Steam as their platform. And anyone who decided it after their systems stopped being supported, don't have the power to change the terms of the SSA after the fact.
Okay, well something tells me you're gonna be spending a lot f time, and many moderations and frustrations explaining that with the upcoming Win 10 purge, yet again.
Good Luck
I wouldn't be making fun of that if I was you given your own history. You've been harping the same old rusted cords for what seems to be forever at this point.
The only difference is one is being a nuisance and the other is trying to be informative.
Nuisance not because I don't like what you say. But because of your refusal to take actual facts into consideration.
My history has made me a celebrity here on Steam. That is due to questioning greedy corporations. People tend to like that, and those who do not, are castigated as shills as they should be.
You should respect fame.
But it's not all bad on Steam here by a long shot. I'm about to come out with a "Why Steam is Great thread.
Enjoy
Not dissimilar to listening to a broken record, however in this case at least the record is more pleasing.

Which would still be roughly 30k users.
Everyone should downgrade and continue to enjoy the best Windows OS to date.
Nah, I'm good.
Arch+Hyprland does the job just fine for me. At least for the type of games I play. It ain't a winning combination for everyone.
Then the make you upgrade with your favorite game. They do it with directx mostly.
Also most PC makers use the most recent version for their builds.
