Possible Overreach in Developer-Run Hub Moderation
Hello Steam Support,

I’d like to provide detailed feedback about moderation practices in the Entropia Universe Community Hub. I recently received a permanent ban from that hub for a post discussing the game’s economy and leadership decisions. My post did not include harassment, personal attacks, or misinformation — it was an opinion supported by public data and community sentiment.

After reviewing the Steam Community Rules & Guidelines, I believe my post was within the expected standards of respectful discussion. However, several users have reported similar bans for mild or fact-based criticism, while more aggressive or inflammatory posts in other game hubs remain visible. This creates an impression of selective moderation and inconsistent enforcement of Steam’s community standards.

I understand that developers have discretion over their own community hubs, and I am not asking for my individual ban to be reversed. My concern is that over-moderation by developers can suppress legitimate discussion and mislead potential players — something Steam’s own moderation guidelines caution against (as mentioned here: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/marketing/community_moderation
).

I respectfully ask that Steam’s internal moderation team review whether the Entropia Universe hub’s moderation practices align with these guidelines. This is especially relevant since players who invest real money into the game may feel intimidated to raise concerns if bans are issued for constructive criticism.

Thank you for your time, professionalism, and continued commitment to maintaining a fair and transparent community space for all users.

I can't be arsed to repeat myself anymore.
Ban Appeals by a Developer must be appealed to the Developer themselves.

Feel free to use their website or any official discord to appeal it with them.
Valve generally only gets involved when a Dev starts crossing the line.

ye here's the catch 22 entropia Universe is cash economy with thousands of dollars involved - nobody in their right mind would go to the developer and make petition over so trivial to risk loose thousands of $ . This is also not a ban apeal but just a notice to steam own moderation team!

Developers are allowed to run their hub to an extent as they please, unless they cross a line, Valve tends to not involved, their moderation team has nothing to do with it.

Any polite appeal is left between the Dev and the User.

Game devs are allowed to moderate their game hubs as they see fit.

If the game devs chose to opt out from help from Steam Support in their hub, then Steam cannot do anything about it.

A dev or their appointed moderators banning you from a game hub is not a violation of any rules.

You can get banned from a hub simply for saying "Hello" and it would be completely legitimate and Steam couldn't do anything about it.

The fact you were complaining about the leadership of the dev team could be considered an attack on the devs.
Doesn't matter if the public agrees with you.

They have every right to moderate their forums as if they wish they can remove all negative posts on their forums as they see fit as they have their own rules beyond what steam has they usually follow.

The Steam discussions aren't the right place to dispute specific bans. We encourage you to contact developer's support team.
